I see why you like the dwarves… Lovely minis, and so very liberating to play !
Nice video. Explosivo is a sweet spell. One extra note: Only the direct hit is magical. The AOE is generic, vanilla blast damage.
Along with beating up paladins its an awesome tenacious-D song. The dwarves are some nice minis stat and skill wise but i don’t like there sculpts. nice demo though, my paladins aren’t as invulnerable as i thought they were
I have seen it used but by the cygnar’s warcaster Markus Brisbane and in small games where magic attacks are very rare it is a great strategy.
/facepalm.
Read Explosivo again……….
It DOES NOT give a weapon without an aoe, an aoe effect!
If the weapon already had a blast it goes down to 3′. Because 4/5″ aoe thats magical would be a bit powerful.
Those damage rolls would also not have killed any of the paladins or vilmon.
Im really losing the will to watch any of your warmachine videos. That absylonia could not of had more mistakes….
The rule reads “…if the weapon was AOE –, it becomes AOE 3.”
Now, what you’re seeing as random punctuation, (the –) is actually a value.
That long dash is used to represent a ranged attack with no AOE.
There are four stats to a ranged attack: range, rate of fire, AOE, and power.
Ranged attacks that have no AOE are listed as AOE –.
If you cast Explosivo on a model with a value of – in the column marked AOE, you grant it an AOE 3.
As I mentioned further up the thread, the AOE that is granted by explosivo is not magical. It’s generic blast damage.
If you cast Explosive on a model with an AOE, it changes nothing, other than granting magical attack to a direct hit.
You were wrong on every count, making your dramatic outburst lose a bit of impact.
You might want to read what your write before you post.
Yup as soon as i wrote it i regreted doing so.
There was completly no need for me to put it as i did.
I genuinly read it several times and missed the ‘ – ‘ each time.
It wasnt till a friend pointed it out to me i realised what i’d done.
So i apologise to both Andy and Vishal for my comments and to anybody else who it concerns.
I was wrong this time and wont post anything unproductive or its like again.
/facepalming myself right now.
Also wish there was a way to either edit posts or delete them.
I wish for an edit button every time I see a typo after I hit ‘submit.’ 🙂
There are a lot of great things about Warpath!
From the fact that Mantic is doing a public beta allowing us the players tell them what we like and don’t like, Also it lets us bend, twist and, break rules that don’t work so well (Not there are bad rules :D) (Like the Forge Fathers tempering the faults out of one of their great masterpiece weapons.)
The rules are short, sweet and to the point. No blocks of time wasted while gaming slogging through a huge book of complex rules. (this was probably designed for the Marauders!)
I give Warpath 6 Zz’or claws up! I can’t wait for more bug action~!
I feel like Warpath will eventually topple the current Sci-Fi giant…
When that happens,
It looks like Games Workshop,
*Puts on Shades*
Just lost it’s game.
YEEEEEEEEEEEEeeeeeeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhh!
Erm…this is a Warmachine video… not mantic
Its nice to see dwarves getting some love.
