Woof the lonely Wardog Painting Comp April 2026
Theme of the month – Weird!
My initial choice, a Tech priest, didnt fair well in the Detol, so I had to pivot at the last minute.
I present Woof the Weird War Dog, he’s a lonely guy, pretty sure they come in pairs, but I picked this up, built and primed second hand somewhere along the line. My first Chaos miniature, not exactly visionary, kept to the standard Khornate style. The tail end of the Combat Patrol Mags is Chaos, so he can join that pack when they arrive.
The model was pre-owned, so had been fully constructed, just missing some of the decorative poles that usually adorn these chaos knights, and was primed in a chrome-style primer, with its armour panels pre-painted a light red.
I used a mixture of paints, shades and effect paints, a bit of a haphazard approach. Having never painted a Chaos model, I was a bit out of my depth and ended up leaning pretty heavily on the Khornate standard of red and gold. Lots of Retributor Gold and Flesh Tearer Red Contrast paint.
A change is as good as a rest, been quite Ork heavy lately, and I enjoyed this foray into Chaos, definitely hyped me up for those models to arrive.
