Brilliant Classic Barbarian Miniatures & Art On Kickstarter

Alexandra Vallet and David Berbel have collaborated on a new Kickstarter project that you might have seen on the Weekender last week. This is a great selection of new hand-sculpted 28mm-scale Fantasy Barbarians alongside some brilliant artwork!

This project was born out of two friends with a love of old-school Fantasy, Sword & Sorcery and heavy metal album covers. Berbel has put his hand to the five wonderful pieces of artwork and then Vallet has turned them into brilliant miniatures which you can make use of in your tabletop games, whatever they might be.

Each of the art pieces has been hand-painted, and each of the miniatures has been hand-sculpted. A proper callback to the classic way of doing things in a world where everything is done on computers and ends up being part of a lightning-fast algorithm that churns out the next best thing. I think these are brilliant.

Each of the miniatures is provided to you as a high-quality resin miniature or as an STL File, scanned from the sculpts and then turned into ones and zeroes for you to print off at home. There are also the five original paintings, which are one-of-a-kind pieces of artwork that will never be reproduced.

Yes, you read that right. These are the original pieces being put forth for the Kickstarter. There are no copies and each canvas is a unique piece. They also come signed and framed, as you'll have seen here. They are unique and available on a first-come, first-served basis.

Currently, the Cave Dwarf is the only art piece that has been sold as part of a pledge bundle and so the rest of the art pieces are still available for you to pick up and hang up in your hobby room.

I really like the piece for Barbarella and the miniature that goes with her. Each of the painting pledges is bundled with the full range of miniatures, so you'll get plenty of figures to paint as you gaze up at your new art piece. You can also buy the resin miniature and/or the STL files separately if you like and you can't splash out for the art pieces.

These exclusive Barbarians are available in a physical format or as STL files as part of the project. You get one fellow who has liberated the head from one of his enemies. If he was suffering from a headache, then he's certainly not feeling rough anymore. I don't think he's feeling anything. There is also another miniature rescuing a damsel in distress, although I think she might have a different opinion on the matter.
