Fantastic Fantasy Giants On The Horizon From Crooked Dice

The folks at Crooked Dice have been working hard on some new miniatures for their ever-expanding Fantasy collection. This time, it's a set of Giants, sculpted by John Pickford.

Frost Giant // Crooked Dice

Pickford has been working on two awesome, classic giants for use in your Fantasy wargames and skirmishes on the tabletop. The first of these is the Frost Giant (above), who looks like they could have come straight out of one of Conan's adventures into the north when he became entangled in the web of the Frost Giant's Daughter. I think the Frost Giant would look great with grey/blue skin and a shimmering silver set of armour to contrast with the earthy, furry boots.

The second of the Giants that you'll be able to get is the Fire Giant who dwells deep beneath the earth alongside his kin, watching over the ever-burning forges of their ancestors.

A big, flaming red beard would be great here. Or, you could go down the black beard route (in more ways than one) and have the ends just smouldering with embers. You could then maybe try out an interesting burnt quality to the armour, the same technique that a lot of folks use on the ends of weapons in Sci-Fi wargames.

I like that both of the Giants are so different in their pose, proportions and demeanour. They look to be pretty tall as well, so they're going to dominate tabletops when they're scrapping against your plucky adventurers!
