Khurasan Miniatures Release Huge 15mm Han Chinese Range

The Warring States period is all the rage, it seems and if you don't fancy diving into it in 28mm scale, there is another option in 15mm scale thanks to Khurasan Miniatures. They have recently introduced some stunning 15mm Han Chinese miniatures to their collection with enough to build a sizable army!

Delving into the research that Khurasan Miniatures has done for this range, the Han Dynasty was possibly the jewel in the crown of ancient Chinese civilisation. Following a period of tyranny, war and taxation, the Han brought a lighter hand to the populace, which allowed culture, commerce and trade to bloom.

Armies were still important, however and the Han Dynasty used conscription, which involved one year and training and one year of service in the army. The army was huge, numbering somewhere between 500,000 and 700,000 troops and was enhanced by a large number of professional soldiers.

The infantry, of which you can find quite a lot of different types from Khurasan, were armed with a mixture of halberds and spears, which were then supplemented by troops with the fearsome Nu crossbow, considered a deadly weapon for the period.

Backing them up would have been the cavalry, also armed with weapons like the halberds that you see here. You will also find that the cavalry would have used a mixture of crossbows and their halberds as well as regular horse archers. All of these can be picked up from the Khurasan Miniatures website.

The Han also made use of Chariots which were still a staple of the army although they were not particular good against the enemy horse archers that were used in large numbers by their enemies. The Khurasan Miniature range has some great options for your Chariots so you can use them as command figures and for lighting fast attacks on the enemy.

Khurasan also mentioned that the Early Western Han was the last army to use a lot of line chariots in this way in battle. One of the most notable conflicts for the Han was the war against the Xiongnu nomads and there's plenty more to go and research on them and their conquests after a quick search online!

Eventually, the Han Dynasty was toppled by rebels and the Western Han was replaced by the Eastern Han. As you can see, there is a lot for you to choose from and this is just scratching the surface in terms of what Khurasan Miniatures has to offer for those wanting to fight as the Han on the battlefields of Ancient China.
