New Imperium Starter Set Previewed For Warcradle’s Dystopian Wars

The Imperium are the newest of the factions of Dystopian Wars, the naval wargame by Warcradle Studios, to make it to the tabletop. They will be coming in October with a brand-new Starter Set to get you ready to dive into the game.

You can pledge your allegiance to the Kaiser and dominate the seas with these impressive-looking, cutting-edge vessels which can be assembled in a variety of ways. You have a good selection of Cruisers and Frigates within the set which can be adapted to achieve different aims when in battle.

For example, you have workhorses of the Prussians in the form of the Blücher Cruisers and then the Augustus Bombardment Cruisers, which can engage the enemy from long range with their heavy mortars. The Reiter Flak Cruisers can also watch the skies and protect you from incoming aircraft.

As with all of the Starter Sets (and sets in general) from Warcradle, you get the chance to build all sorts out of one box. You can see that here in the contents...

As well as coming with all sorts of bits and pieces to build your fleet, you'll also get the new Rulebook and the rest of the gubbins you need for playing your games. The Imperium has a very modern, sleek design principle when it comes to their ships and I do like how they actually match up quite well to a lot of the modern warships folks will be familiar with from World War I through to the modern day. They will look very nice in a metallic grey!

Commonwealth Frontline Squadrons

As well as the Imperium, the Commonwealth also introduce the Frontline Squadrons.

This is another option for those wanting to bulk out their Commonwealth fleet with a mixture of new Cruisers and Frigates. Whereas the Imperium have that sleek design to their ships so they look like they are slicing through the water, the Commonwealth seem to just be battering their way through the waves and probably plenty of enemy ships.

This set comes with...

• 2x Kutsov Cruisers (may also be built as Arkangel Command Cruisers, Norilsk Heavy Cruisers, Oleg Monitors, or Sineus Fast Cruisers)
• 2x Rurik Frigates (may also be built as Boyar Heavy Frigates)
• 2x Escort Tokens
• 2x Kometa Interceptor SRS Tokens
