About the Project

So back in 2017 I backed a Kickstarter for a modular dungeon system cast in stewalin. It is called MODULAR DUNGEON and still available. It already had a second Kickstarter for even more options. But what to do?

This Project is Active

“Just add static grass”. This stuff gets everywhere! Worse than sand! XD

Steps taken:

  • spread PVA
  • sprinkle static grass
  • let dry
  • soak in alcohol
  • pour a 50:50 mix of water &PVA glue over the grass

And now we wait for everything to dry.

Again.

Hello? Anybody alive in here?

8 years is way too long for something almost done. Let’s blow some dust.

Base painted with a mix of brown and black. Then some PVA in front of the entry and exit, sprinkled with cork crumbles and a sand mix that was meant for a bird cage.

Now some drying time.

Since the original Modular Dungeon Kickstarter there had been a second one. Which I also backed. So now I’m left with the same set of parts as before plus wooden floor tiles. What to do with it? oO Persue the original plan and build further into the Dungeon Bowl?

After a long time I now revisit this project. (Mainly because all my Star Wars Legion is painted and the second Kickstarter of my Modular Dungeon is inbound)

I drybrushed all the walls, painted the wood parts brown and added colour to the water and the lava pits. Also a bit brown for the secret passage.

Next should be the surroundings with brown colour, PVA and static grass. But that’s something for another update.

Both, stewalin and the xps foam, eat lots of base coating colours.  Three layers are applied and that is the current state of the project. I hope to be able to get back to it soon.

I underestimated the needed quantities and had to cut more… but eventually I got it all build. Night goblins for scale… little buggers wanted to loot the place.

Thanks to my trusty hot wire cutter I made 3 different sizes of building blocks.

And then I started building outside walls….

At this time I realized I needed something for the flat outside of the walls.
