About the Project
Taking a break from Moonstone painting for a little while and decided to paint my Chaos Dwarf team for Blood Bowl. I have since decided to just make it a full blood bowl project as I have a few other models that need painting. Hopefully this project will help encourage me to get up to date.

The team kit test pieces
Although I want them to be white kits, I do want some differentiation between the metal and fabric parts.
To base coat, I used the following paints:
Metal: Celestra Grey followed by a Nuln Oil wash
Fabric: Rakarth flesh followed by Seraphim Sepia
Then it was time for highlighting.
Fabric was a layer of Rakarth flesh, then a layer of a mix of Rakarth and pallid witch flesh, followed by a highlight of pallid witch flesh.
The metal was a layer of a Celestra gray and Ullathon grey mix, followed by an Ullathon grey highlight.
I am thinking both may need a final white highlight but I will review that when the miniatures have other colours on them.
I am not sure why I didn’t paint the goblin in the troll’s hand but I will get to it eventually.
The next thing up will be the Skin colouration. My plank is to try three different types based on the race type in the team.
All will be green but different tones. The black orcs themselves will be the darkest, the goblins in the middle, and the troll will be the lightest and may even veer into a yellowish colour.
Black Orc team
So despite not buying any more miniatures for the time being I won a black orc team for finishing second in my local league.
However as I already have the team, I decided that I would paint it up and give it to the shop for others to use if we gay any new members.
My plan for painting is to not spend too much time and also not stress too much, as it only needs to be alright not perfect.
Here is the team primed ready for painting.
I left the right arm off of the troll as I know from previous experience that it is not fun to paint with it on.
For the paint scheme my plan is to go for a white(ish) uniform and then play with the skintones. As this is going to be able to be used by anyone, I thought that listing all of the methods would be helpful if they need touching up in future.
Also, priming black and then going for a white team kit – I guess I have never claimed to have any forward planning.
Blood bowl complete(ish)
With the most recently released Blood Bowl star players now completed I have mostly finished the GW official range.
So until more models are released I can move on to different projects, so good times.
2 out of 3
So finally got the Gnome star players which were 2 thirds of the missing figures.
the only missing figure pack is the Josef Bugman but I can live with that.
The refs
I found these 2 miniatures about 80% finished despite buying them years ago.
A quick update on a few details and I now consider them done.
the difference in the quality of the miniatures between now and is noticeable but they will do.
Troll for my goblin team
My Goblin team needed a 2nd troll to complete the roster.
I decided to try and paint just using a specific set of paints, and try and use all 12 colours.
The only allowance was metals as I can’t be arsed to do NMM.
The final results were alright but I didn’t like not using citadel paints – I know there are better paints but the habit of using them over the years is hard to break.
Underworld team
A belated update. Second attempt to submit this entry.
After getting a few more models for my underworld team, I painted them up realised that the colours didn’t match.
Sigh.
I repainted the colours on the armour and clothes to match.
Jordell finished
This now finishes off all my official GW miniatures for bloodbowl except for the 3 star players that I can’t get from GW as out of stock.
I am expecting some third party big guys to finish off some of the teams. So hopefully will move on to another project soon
