you’re right about the lack of a keystone in the arch, perhaps that’s why it is a ruin. Looks like you get plenty of options with the build,. I didn’t like the skulls either at least they made them optional. It’s a shame they are not smaller they would make good wound markers.
I love this set. It’s been a really multi-purpose set for our gaming board with the ruined tops being able to add onto hills and other pieces to give them a bit more character. Can turn the plainest hill into a Temple of Skulls or Scree Slope.
A great set 🙂

Unsurprisingly I would like it if it didn’t have the FRIKKIN’ SKULLZ!
/excessive and unnecessary rage
Just bloody use some imagination and have something else for once lol
There are no keystones because they have capstones as per Stonehenge
You only need the capstone for arches.
If it’s all one block, it looks like 3 blocks or maybe it’s one and they chiseled it to look like 3.
Definately OTT on the skulls though. Imagine what it would look like with all of them attached.
The carving is recessed and it has a rim that runs along the stone.
The block is carved as three panels imho like a triptych and I can’t see any block joins along the top.
I would be tempted to magnetise the base of the pillars as I like how Darrell set it up, but sometimes it would be good to have it more widely arranged so models could move through the ruins.
Also some of the small broken pillars would be very easy to make to supplement the site
Magnets are great for terrain especially for trees, I was always knocking the things over before.
see that some humourless Kraniophialz are in town tonight lol
It’s a more like a Stonemasons convention 🙂
oopsy
meant to say you only need keystones for arches.
or early slapstick comedy chases.
Ever since they did the skulls stickers, they have been obsessed. Do you remeber that GW, when you offered stuff for your customers loyalty. Jeeze even nectar points would be nice you tight arses.
lol, I remember in one sitting me and two friends collectively spent £800 in one go in a GW, my friend asked for a freebie paintbrush and was told no
How true, I remember managing to swap the flagellants from the old emprie battalion boxed set for a returned empire boxed set with a detachment in it. The manager nearly had a coronary bartering with me. He couldn’t sell it any more as it was an out of print set but didn’t want to see me 10 troopers up on him. Sheer joy.
