Great quotes on that site :
“The detail in resin is really, really well” – YouTube user at OnTableTop channel
Not sure why, but that sort of quoting is weird as heck … unless the machine is in use by one of the gaming companies reviewed by OTT.
“a revolutionary technology that is going to change the way you design and create your games”
whyyyy? Why does it always have to be “revolutionary”? Why not just go for a more believable “improved and new” or “refined process”. Well, we’ll see what comes from it 😉
I like the ‘workflow’ video that doesn’t show the full workflow from start to finish 🙂
I would love to start a 15mm collection based around this material but I’m struggling to find many examples of how they’re looking out of the machine. The only ones I’ve seen so far from PSC have had horrendous amounts of flash which isn’t selling it to me. Hopefully they’ll do some shots of better examples.
Horrendous amounts of flash?
The 10mm Soviets from PSC look fine…

Also I’d say alot of PSC stuff shown was test samples… they spent alot of time working on how to produce the 15mm ancients…

I really like the material. Paints like metal, doesnt chip, is light and durable.

They posted this on Facebook two days ago. You can see the halo of flash around the models.
Nonetheless if they are as good as you say I’ll look into them once they release some 15mm ancient ranges I’m interested in.
Oh definitely flash on some. Same as with lots of metal figures.
But I can only go by the samples they have sent me, and they have been reasonably free of the moulding lines. Those that I have had have been in line with metal models. Plus it’s been easy to remove. Of course, in use with 10mm, seeing a slight mould line is the hand isnt as bad as it may look in close up photos sometimes.
These are the sample tanks they sent me a couple of weeks ago…

I wonder if the quality/age of the mould has an impact, but I do know the pressure used to ‘cast’ the plastics is something that takes time to perfect and test for each mould in use.
Cool, that’s great to hear and I’ll give them a go. Is it possible to scrape clean the mould lines?
Also, do you know what PSC will release by way of ancients lines in the future?
I have used the GW mould line remover and a sharp scalpel over the mould lines on them. I have mainly done vehicle and only a few 15mm.
They take me less time to prepare than hard plastics and about the same as metals. I do wonder how much some of the lines will notice when painted, so I may be being a bit OTT in removing stuff that just wont be seen when gaming.
As for what is coming in 15mm Ancients… loads.
They have all the Lurkio, Xyston and Corvus Belli ranges to do in Siocast and they seem to be around half the price of metals from what I can gather. Also cheap to post too…
