Blazing Saddles is genuinely my favourite film. Spaceballs is ok but yeah Mr Brooks did better.

I got a chuckle when Ben said that on the Weekender. I once had that very argument with one of the ‘youngsters’ (he was in his 20’s, me in my late 40’s) at work who insisted it was Mel Brooke’s best work. My response was ‘Have you never SEEN Blazing Saddles? Young Frankenstein? History of the World?’
