The miniatures in this post were all painted up for The Analogue Hobbies Painting Challenge, an online event I try to join every year. The event is superbly run buy Curt (and Sarah, everyone is very supportive of one another and it is truly an inspirational experience- and that’s forgetting to mention, you get to see a very wide variety of painting styles etc.

You should not wash horses with oil. Water and maybe a little pet-friendly soap will do nicely.

Sometimes, they have auctions for wild mustangs, which can be had for just a few hundred dollars. Where to put the horsie is a different matter…..

Thanks, It’s actually the use of oils that I’m trying to avoid as they’re messy and can take come time to dry.

I tried oils many years ago and yes, the drying time is simply not justifiable on miniatures. Some painters get around this by ‘baking’ their figures in an oven on the lowest setting, but that will obviously only work with all-metal models.
