I just saw an S.O.S on Facebook from Ragnarok miniatures. It seems that Green Stuff is not being produced anymore.

The video isn’t long but for those who don’t do YT there is also a written explanation here. It was produced by a US company who relied on imported materials which were hit by tariffs on import/export so closed production. The UK importer say they are trying to replicate it and restart production but haven’t perfected the formulation yet.

That (greenstuff no longer being produced) had been announced mid 2025 and in all fairness that’s enough time to
- buy up all remaining stock
- look for alternatives
Almost a year has past since any stock has been produced to calling to people with “fresh stock” seems a bit… odd XD

Latest news on new green stuff is 4 weeks old by now:

40 formulations and counting – but new Green Stuff is on its way

I do get that it’s bad and if you’re not aware of it it can catch you off guard but there have been news about this the last few months (even I did post something about it here)

Even if it were perfected right now, I wonder how long it would take before it would be available. M0nths/Years? I was reading some comments about green stuff other than Kneadatite and they weren’t very positive.

Is an option when you only do work on your on minis. Gap filling etc. @onlyonepinman As far as I understand it the difference with GreenStuff is: even fully cured it still has some bendyness to it. A bit like rubber. Which makes it better for creating master minis of which silicone molds are made from. Because GS flexes a bit it’s less likely to rip the silicone molds apart or tear details.

There’s a reason why most miniature makers are making greens 😉

I saw this, being late to the party, and there is also an issue with trying to get your hands on Tamiya putties for what I assume is the same reason. The discontinuing of production sucks as a consumer and makes me think 3D sculpting is going to gwt a boost. I would guess this is an issue for the Gundam market if anyone did conversions manually like we do.

I don’t see it so problematic for unique anime/manga figure sculptors because a lot of what I see is stuff they bake to cure. The use of Fimo and air dry clay works better for their scale and volume, unlike most of us.
