New Sepoy Mutineers & Warring States From Wargames Atlantic!

Wargames Atlantic bring some awesome new 28mm scale plastic sets to their Historical range, covering the era of Imperial Conquest and the First Empires period of the Warring States on the other side of the world.

Sepoy Mutineers // Wargames Atlantic

We start with the Sepoy Mutineers, who are going to be brilliant for those seeking to fight the Indian Mutiny out on the tabletop between 1857 and 1858. These were highly trained soldiers who had Western training drilled into them. They fought a relentless battle against the British, striking at civilian locations, garrisons and the columns that were marching across Northern India.

This set comes with components for making the traditional infantry of the Bengal Army and the various rebel forces that rose during the Indian Mutiny. They could also be used to represent your native infantry, local militia and maybe even civilians that could be found all across the Indian subcontinent.

The sprues come with all sorts of great options for you to play with, allowing you to craft the twenty-four infantry. They can be armed with the likes of the Pattern 1842 Muskets but also their traditional tulwars (swords) and dhal (shields). There are also options for a bugle player so you can make sure the troops know where they need to rush to!

Warring States Armoured Infantry

As well as the Sepoy, we also have a trip back in time to the period of the Warring States and their Armoured Infantry. This has been a set that has been a long time coming!

This set of twenty-four miniatures covers the Warring States period stretching from 475-221 BCE. It was a period of time framed by warfare, political intrigue and the clash between the seven rival states, Qin, Chu, Qi, Yan, Han, Zhao, and Wei.

Inside, you'll find twenty-four of the aforementioned armoured warriors with a mixture of different weapon types. You can give them crossbows, spears, two-handed swords, halberds and swords. This breaks down into options for making six crossbowmen, six spearmen, eight two-handed swordsmen, ten "daggeraxe" (halberds) or twelve swordsmen. So, a real mix.

This set can also be mixed with the upcoming Unarmoured Infantry, Chariot and Cavalry, which will allow you to craft yourself an immense Warring States army for use on the tabletop. As mentioned above, this plastic set has been in the works for a while and it's great to finally see it out, giving plastic options for those wanting to wargame the period.

Whilst this is a period of Chinese history before the era of the Three Kingdoms and that of Dynasty Warriors, it's pretty close and would give you a good grounding should you want to pit these miniatures against a fearsome Lu Bu if you so wanted. Still, the Warring States period is one that is just as intriguing and enticing to dive into.
