The Winter King by Bernard Cornwell begins a three-novel story of Arthur, showing him intending to unite Britain against the invading Saxons and Irish, the following thread is open for discussion about Part 2, The Princess Bride, 97-155

We definitely started to see of big personalities on display in part 2.

The foibles of people entirely looking out just for themselves. I think that everyone should have the experience of a relationship with someone like Lunette, just so they can properly appreciate a healthy relationship after they escape from the life sucking wench. 🙂 🙂

I liked the counter point of Arthur to Owain. Both of them admirable people in their own way and tremendously flawed as well.

I may have been most upset and moved by the death of the kitten though…

@enginseer, I think that’s one of the best thing about this telling of Arthur’s tale. I mean throughout history he’s been depicted as the perfect embodiment of mankind ready to defend Britain when needed bit Cornwell shows that he is nothing of the sort and he is infact only human and subject to the foibles that make us human
