Just put all the stuff that would make a Vostroyan (partial) army – $870 CAD. Insane. GW just jumped the shark. Even for me.

And yet, still people will shell out that amount of money.

As long as line goes up, prices will too. Less players? Who cares as long as the remaining whales foot the bill.

175 euro for the platoon? What is this, resin Solar Auxilia days?

Though tbh, I don’t think GW cares too much about new players not getting it. 20-year-old metals is basically there for whales, the dumber kind of scalper, and whoever wasn’t able to get the minis when they were regularly out.

$58 for the Flamer. $58 for the Sergeant. $2 for the other eight guys apparently, make it make sense.

Supremely cool models but who can possibly afford to build a Guard force with them?

it makes NO SENSE. This is – I think – the highest priced retro made to order I’ve seen yet. $8 CAD per single metal at the low end; $43 CAD per single specialty figure  at the high end.

I am a GW fan, and can buy what I want – but I balked, hard, at this one. And passed.

I’d love to know what their pre-order numbers are on this release – my guess is “very poor to absolute rejection”.

It does make sense. Think of it as an investment. What price would such a force go on ebay ?

@emomonkey123 – eBay isn’t what it used to be, the level of overpriced stuff is rampant and has made eBay somewhere I’m surprised people still buy off of.

Investment? Maybe, if that’s your thing. I like to buy hobby stuff to use, not as an investments.

I ran into a dude yesterday at a wedding I went to who is a Pokémon trader – makes $300,000 a year profit on his business. Just. Freaking. Bonkers. Never plays the game. And he’s a middle trader – buys from the scalpers, then volume sells to an online platform, with annual sales of $3million. He makes 10% profit. Was wearing a $10,000 Cartier watch. He was 25 years old.

GW will push the prices until they hit a tipping point, which I sense is not too far away.  They now serve the share holder over the customer, I have no issue with a company being successful but the focus is clearly on excess profit for dividends.

Thata not strictly GE, that is UK plc, look at Brompton bikes, Land rover, Private railway network, Electric companies.. GW is just following the FTSE business model.   Buying GE models is at least more fun than owning GW shared

And on the last day to order …

Heading to Banff to camp for the next week. Enjoy all, wherever you are!
