OK, so I know the mere mention of Games Workshop stirs mixed opinions, but I still have a bit of a soft spot for their games and worlds. They just had their big summer preview and these were the highlights:

Kill Team: Exodite – The Aeldari Exodites enter the Kill Team Arena, looks like a new box set also containing Ork Beast Snaggaz.

New edition of Necromunda incoming – new core set featuring Escher Blades of the Matriarch vs Goliath Forge Smelters. New models for these houses, 8 each. New Necromunda core rulebook that seems to have the new tile of Necromunda: Skirmish. Tactics and scenario card sets, new gang books called Gangs of the Underhive and Gangs of the Outlands to let you use existing gangs straight away. Also a range of what is being called Underhive Crew boxes for the six “original” gangs.

New Ogors for Age of Sigmar – New battletome, army set and updated miniatures across the range including a new character, Redd the Maw, High Salughtermaster.

New Warlord and Reaver titan kits for Legions Imperialis – 2 new Warlord titans, and 1 new Reaver titan, all with new weapons that will also be available as upgrade kits. The new titans will also have rules for Adeptus Titanicus

New Custodian miniatures – can be used in 40k and Horus Heresy. A new Support Battlegroup box set with the new models. the Telemon Heavy Dreadnought, Gyrfalcon Jetbikes, the Pallas Grav-attack. New Journal Tactica titled Prospero Burns, The Judgement of Valdor. Contains new rules including a Daemons of Tzeentch army list.

Big Guys and the return of Blood Bowl Sevens – Morg N’ Thorg now in plastic and has 3 team kit options! New plastic Minotaur, with optional mutations, different loincloths to match your team and a choice of heads and shoulder pads. New plastic Rat-Ogre with three head and two tail options. Spike! Journal 22 will have the rules for Blood Bowl Sevens, quick games for fast club play or tournaments, or “lunchtime leagues”. Also looks like there is a new Sevens pitch and dugout set.

“New” stuff for the Old World – A new core set with Grand Cathay vs Warriors of Chaos, 54 models, the first 2 army core set for the game. The Chaos models are all new, new Lord, new Knights and new Warriors. There will also be a new Lord/Sorcerer on Dragon. There will be be an updated core rulebook, in the core set but also available separately. GW say existing material is still valid. The rules will also contain the Battle March rules for smaller games at 400-750 points. A generals handbook to accompany the Battle March rules, and 2 new Battle March army sets, Chaos and Cathay. A new Arcane Journal for Warriors of Chaos, and some new card packs.

Codex Orks and a bunch of new gubbinz – ‘ere we go, ‘ere we go, ‘ere we go… New Trukk, Mek and Warboss, units from the Armageddon box available separately, new command pack with cards and tokens, plus new dice.

New 40K starter sets and pre-painted terrain – a new 40K starter set featuring Space Marines (well, obviously!) vs the Orks. It will have 2 complete Combat Patrol forces, plus rules and starter play guide. 2 new box sets called Getting Started with… will have a Space Marine set and an Orks set. each comes with a full Combat Patrol (looks like the same ones from the starter set),  a starter guide and 11 paints plus starter brush. A new Introductory set, again Space Marines vs Orks, 6 models each plus play guides. The introductory set models are brand new. New Ork paint set, Space Marine paint set, and a paint and tools set. Combat Patrol: Battlezone with game board and unpainted push fit terrain.

Battlefields: Armageddon – 3 box sets of pre-painted terrain, some assembly required, and an Armageddon battlemat.

    and finally,

Warhammer: Academy – appear to be a new site or landing with lots of new videos, over 150 for 40K, with Age of Sigmar coming too, to teach about lore, building and painting, collecting and gaming

    Aaaand breathe!

Literally so much goodness… I was at my GW store Saturday and the staffer showed me much then – there is SO MUCH coming it’s hard to sort in the head.

EXODITES are the most exciting for me, along with all the Chaos Old World goodness.

My wallet is crying already …
