Mantic Games has given details of where the story goes next in the Fantasy world of Pannithor and their wargame, Kings of War. Chapter II, Fracture, is on the way with a new book and a host of new miniatures to sit alongside it.

Fracture - Kings of War

The new Fracture expansion book is going to be the next chapter in the unfolding narrative for Pannithor. It will come with all of the lore deep dives that you'd expect, plus all new content for Kings of War 4th Edition, including two new scenarios and two new universal command orders which can be used by any faction.

You will also find coverage of four different factions within the world of Pannithor. The Forces of Nature are at the forefront but you'll also find coverage for the Forces of the Abyss, the Ogres and the Basileans included as part of the book.

As well as talking about what's going to be in the Fracture book, Mantic also talked about what's coming in each wave of releases. This will all start with a new set of boxed sets for the Forces of the Abyss and the Ogres, with new hero miniatures for each faction. Pre-orders for those will be coming this week for that!

The second wave of releases will feature Fracture itself and a bunch of new miniatures for the Forces of Nature (one of which is pictured on the cover of the book), plus more for the Basileans. Last but not least, there will be another wave continuing the theme of the Forces of Nature, plus a brand-new Champions Company. This will also feature a return of an iconic Basilean character, plus more boxed sets updated for the 4th Edition.

Mantic Games has also mentioned that the next expansion book, Arrogance, is scheduled for later in the year. This will feature a Clash of Kings-style update where every army in the game will be tweaked and updated to match the current state of Kings of War.

If this has got you interested in returning to Kings of War, don't forget that the Slow Grow Challenge is ongoing and will lead up to a summer campaign in August. There is also going to be a new novel for lore fans called Blades of Samarik, written by Mark Barber, coming out soon, tied into Fracture and that summer campaign.

What do you make of this update for Kings of War?
