Bad Squiddo Games Previews WW2 Heroes Of The Dutch Resistance
August 26, 2026 by brennon
Bad Squiddo Games is preparing for a new Kickstarter on the 23rd of September, focusing on more of the resistance that stood up to the Nazis during World War II. This time, they are going to be looking at real-life Heroes of the Dutch Resistance.
Heroes of the Dutch Resistance // Bad Squiddo Games
As Bad Squiddo Games has mentioned in their previews, they have explored different countries and their resistance movements but not really the Netherlands. So, Annie has been off exploring and learning as much as she can about the Dutch Resistance and brought that information back in order to bring this wonderful array of miniatures to life.
This new collection looks at more subtle methods of resistance where individuals used their skills in painting, photography, legal support and even sewing to combat the threat of the Nazis in their homeland.

You will also find plenty who did end up turning to violence in order to disrupt the war effort of the enemy. One such fellow was Willem Arondeus, who led an attack on the Amsterdam Municipal Register alongside friends who were artists, photographers, architects, writers, medical students and even a tailor. He was said to proclaim, "Let it be known that homosexuals are not cowards!" before he was executed.
Women were also involved in the aforementioned attack, although as Annie points out, they didn't get directly involved but instead dressed inconspicuously as police officers. Cool! So many of these miniatures that you'll get as part of this campaign are real people who have a story to tell. It's probably a collection of stories you didn't even know about.

As well as being awesome nods to the heroics of individuals during World War II, these would be great miniatures for the likes of 02 Hundred Hours, Chain of Command, No Easy Ground, Packing Heat, Bolt Action and many more games. They could be the real heroes of the era of agents, civilians and more for your games.
Sculpting comes from Alan Marsh and these miniatures will be available in 28mm scale and lovely metal!
Are you going to be picking up some Heroes of the Dutch Resistance?
