Great fun enjoyed that
Love this guys. Great seeing let’s plays back up again! Great wee game too
is it better, the same or worse than the original Tanks game ?
I suspect it probably is a bit more expensive given the pre-primed and assembled tanks …
Can I get an upgrade from my Tanks to the ? world?
No, they do not seem to be selling upgrade packs.
looks a good fun play to play guys.
Nice little game, and one i thought Mr Lyons would of won. Seeing as it was a lets play, John can be for given. Nice play through guys.
Thanks for the great playthrough. First one I’ve watched in a while. So…question…which would be better to wean 12 to 14 year olds off Warlords of Erehwon, elves and dragons, etc.? They like Gates of Antares as well, but which system would work better? World of Tanks, Flames of War or Bolt Action? The idea of unboxing and playing is pretty hard to resist!
World of Tanks is a VERY light game. If they are enjoying WoE and GoA then Bolt Action seems the obvious choice.
I don’t remember playing initiative rolls in TANKS the skirmish game (might be wrong), so that is a good change… you don’t want certain high initiative tanks being difficult to take on every game just down to stats. Though the add on crew, equipment and stratagems cards were often initiative focused to fight that. I don’t remember destructible terrain either, so that’s a fun addition.
Even though TANKS is a history light game, played very much like a computer game, I won’t be getting World of Tanks. I like that in TANKS you still fight as sides / nations rather than as all-against-all. It is nice to get a taste of different nations all in one box, but US tanks shooting at British tanks (intentionally) seems off to me. You may as well make a game with random space age vehicles with no alliances and play that on a spacescape using the same rules (X-Wing meets Firefly and Elite).
I can see why the brands / companies came together and made this game, because the game play is fun and comparable.
I think at some stage I will use my TANKS collection to play “What a Tanker” and maybe make that an all-against-all participation game instead.
Great video and fun to see it played out.
I think maybe another video in future with some upgrade heavy lists might show off some bigger changes between TANKS and World of Tanks that i might like.
true, something about US and German fighting Russian and British just not right. This is my main issue of games that allow a free for all. Understand the concept but still, US M4A3E8 sherman and Comet vs T34-85 at least is Korean war conflict so i can go for that.
Rules seemed pretty much how I remembered Tanks….
I enjoyed watching this.
