Antediluvian Build On Medieval Wars Of The Bruces 28mm Collection

Antediluvian Miniatures previewed four new miniatures that will soon be coming to their 28mm scale Medieval collection, especially for those who like fighting the Wars of the Bruces on the tabletop.

Edward II // Antediluvian Miniatures

We start with the miniature for, as Antediluvian Miniatures put it, "Edward". I would imagine that it's a safe assumption that this is Edward II, King of England, who battled against Robert the Bruce at Bannockburn. I suppose it could also be Edward Bruce, Earl of Carrick, but it's more likely to be the King of the English who went up against Robert the Bruce, considering we have plenty of characters for that side but not much for the English via Antediluvian.

The second of the miniatures is for "Clifford", which I took to mean Robert de Clifford. It would make sense that he sits alongside King Edward since he was also instrumental in the fighting against the Scots during this period.

Clifford led the English forces in the hunt for Robert through Galloway and the South-West of Scotland. He was even gifted lands in Scotland and Northern England by the King, confiscated from the Bruces, which was something of another kick in the teeth for the Scots. He would meet his end at the Battle of Bannockburn when he was killed in a charge against a wall of Scottish pikes. He clearly didn't know his wargaming tactics.

Last but not least, we have another set of two mounted Knights.

These Knights could serve for whichever kingdom you like during the Medieval period but they would look rather nice paired with King Edward and Clifford. They have a pair of meaty weapons between them. An axe for splitting limbs and a mace for squishing your insides, even within armour!
