Black Scorpion Miniatures released some great new Fantasy miniatures for August. Some neat new 32mm scale figures were added to their Breninmoor collection and the Cutlass! pirate range.

Grand Marshal - Black Scorpion Miniatures

Grand Marshall // Black Scorpion Miniatures

We start with Grand Marshall, who could be an excellent leader for your Medieval Fantasy armies. The rider comes separate from the horse and you simply need to stick on the sword, shield and some of the horse trinkets in order to finish off the figure.

The rampant horse is a great touch to get across the heroic nature of the character, especially when combined with the sword being held high. The horned helmet gives him a little bit of a legendary quality and you can tell that he takes himself seriously because he's got his main sword, another on his belt and a dagger on the side of his horse! He's never going to be out of weapons.

He might be joined in battle by the Knight Superior.

She is a single-piece resin figure who would be an excellent addition to a Fantasy army but could also be a great guard for use in a game like Guards of Traitor's Toll. I could see her scaring away thieves and nefarious spellcasters on the cobbled streets of a Fantasy city.

She has a purposeful stance, almost like a stride. It would be neat if you could kitbash or convert the hand to have the sword held pointed forward, as if she's issuing a challenge.

Remastered Orc Pirates

Long-time miniature collectors will know that Black Scorpion Miniatures have a game called Cutlass!, which is a great skirmish game of Fantasy pirates (which is free!) battling it out on the high seas and plundering ports. Well, one of the crews from the game now gets some remastered miniatures in the form of these Orc Pirates.

Orc Pirates 1 - Black Scorpion Miniatures

There are two sets for you to choose from. Set One features an Orc who could easily make it to the rank of captain, alongside a fellow with an axe who could be your first mate. The third miniature has a cutlass and pistol at the ready for a boarding action.

Orc Pirates 2 - Black Scorpion Miniatures

Set Two provides you with the rest of your crew, or at least the start of your crew. They all come with cutlasses and pistols and the look of Orcs who have been at sea for far too long. I really like the detail that Black Scorpion work into their sculpts and that's very much seen here in spades amongst these Orc Pirates.

I love that there's also a fellow with a rather fine bit of facial hair on show. I wonder if he grew that naturally or if he managed to stick on something made of rat fur?

Do you like these new Black Scorpion Miniatures offerings?
