Diving into a little bit of history about Dabulamanzi, he was originally ordered not to attack outside of Zulu territory. Isandlwana changed all that and he then led his men against the British at Rorke's Drift. He would then go on to command at the Siege of Eshowe and take control of the Zulu right flank at Gingindlovu. He was a loyal warrior and served the king until he was killed by Boer mercenaries in 1886.

As with all of the Soldier of Fortune miniatures, Prince Dabulamanzi kaMpande is only available for a month (August) and then he will be gone. He could be a great figure to pick up for diorama work or perhaps to paint up as part of a special project. Maybe he'll spur you into playing Rorke's Drift in 28mm scale rather than the epic scale option Warlord Games recently revealed?

I think the miniature looks great and very in keeping with the image of him conjured up by the Zulu movie.
