Scurrours! Art Preview // Ecorcheurs
Scurrours! is set during the Wars of the Roses and the scene above features the final moments of Edmund Beaufort, 2nd Duke of Somerset, fighting in the streets of St Albans. This book also explores...
"The fighting was fierce and chaotic. York’s ally, the Earl of Warwick, broke through the backyards and narrow alleys of the town, bypassing the Lancastrian barricades on the main streets. Somerset had taken refuge in an inn called The Castle. There, he was cornered by the Yorkists and, despite a gallant defence, during which he was said to have slain four men, he was killed. His death was said to have fulfilled a prophecy, as it had been foretold that he would die in a castle."
This forms the basis of a mini-campaign within this new book. You will get to refight these brutal street battles and the heroic last stand of Somerset. You'll also find a reissue of the rules alongside new mechanics like rules for gunpowder weapons plus more for fighting in, out and within buildings.
There will also be two new scenarios, "the defence of the causeway at St Michael’s Mount and the last charge of Richard III at Bosworth", and four suggested retinues covering the French and Burgundian Compagnies d’Ordonnance and Irish galloglaich. New traits are also included for those designing new characters to lead the way.
Are you going to be picking up Scurrours! when it comes out?
