A year of projects
As its the end of the year I thought I'd have a look at what I've done this year and what to plan for next year. The spring clean project this year was my terminator collection where I worked on some new scenery and used a selection of minis for resistance fighters to replace the ones in the game to remove the taint of those later movies.
My American colonial wars is nearing to an end. I have two new buildings to add to this collection and that will bring this to an end.
The Battle of Dorking sees the Prussian invasion of 19th century England. I still have a couple of units to pick up for this with the idea of using the Men who would be Kings as a mini campaign for the push towards London.
The follow up to my cheese riot game I called Thieftakers. Blending the original Judge Dredd game with Georgian crime and punishment.
This year I completed my Alamo project but I still need to complete a couple of battle reports but the collection is complete.
Victorian sciencefiction continues and isnt ending any time soon. Next year I plan to complete my Martian Empires range of 18m armies.
Over the Top WW1 project has moved to the middle east thanks to wargames atlantics range including the ottoman 3D printed heads. Maybe Arabs for new year.
The Victorian Empire continues to expand with more troops for Afghanistan but next year I want to add Maoris
I continue to add to my Ghost archipelago range which isnt ending anytime soon. I'm still working through the monster encounter lists. New storage
Getting on with it
My first stl purchase was this fallout truck and it worked with no problems although somebparts like the wing mirrors are so tiny I dlmost mistook them for supports Failing and wins
An idiot tries 3D printing
So I bit the bullet and got myself a resin printer. Now I sm not a tech guy and have no experience with this sort of thing. The mono 4k seems easy to use and I watched a few videos on the subject. I got water washable resin thinking that might be easier to deal with.
The test print worked OK but I hit a snag. The slicer program wouldn't work on the laptop I have at home because its too old. I tried to download it on a friend's but hit a similar problem. I feel the slicer tech side isn't mentioned much when it comes to 3D printing. After a few weeks of the printer sitting in the den my brother came to the rescue with a laptop. He had no problems getting slicer working after calling me an aging luddite with no skills.
My first go at a print was a fallout generator that you can download for free from modiphius. As you can see it didn't work and I was left scratching my head wondering why New/old storage
Final tidy
Work on the Den was put on hold as it was being used as a dumping ground but I finally got some gym flooring so any dropped models will hopefully bounceHound of Lucifer
For some reason I have in my possession a mask worn by some villains in an episode of Robin of Sherwood back in the 80s. I found it discarded after a visitor attraction in Nottingham closed down. The Hirn the Hunter costume was given to another local attraction and put on display but I kept hold of this mask which is built around a horse riders cap. It was falling apart and the feathers fell off so I repaired it as best I could to stick on the wall.
