Wow.
Just started Infinity (had a few games) but this is a tactic I will be trying out for sure!!!
When he means “same troops” does this include for example:
Fusilier w/ Combi-rifle
Fusilier w/ HMG
etc etc
???
Cheers
Dan!
In the Human Sphere expansion were link team rules are there is a table, there it lists each sectorial and what troop types are linkable.
As long as the troop type is correct, for example fusiliers, it does not matter what the weapons and equipment or speciality is.
I think it’s worth mentioning that only sectorial armies get to use linked teams. The same troops (eg Fusiliers) in a vanilla list would not get to be linked.
(Assuming I understand this correctly, and ignoring a tiny number of special exceptions).
Mainly but there are a few special troops that can join with others. I think there’s only a hand full. Like a Crane Rank Imperial Service can join with Celestial Guards, Joan of Arc can join with Knights and only a few others.
One of the special rules with fireteams states-
“William Wallace Lieutenant + Any Linked Team from the Highlander Army”.
Does this mean:
William Wallace + 2 Linked miniatures = 3 total miniatures
or
William Wallace + 3 Linked miniatures = 4 total miniatures
To answer your question:
William Wallace + 2 miniatures of the same kind of unit that could form a linked team is enough to make a valid fireteam.
So you could build the next linked teams:
-Wallace + 2-4 Wulvers
-Wallace + 2-4 Caledonian Volunteers
-Wallace + 2-4 Grey Rifles
or Wallace + 2-4 Galwegians (that’s another special link)
But you wouldn’t be allowed to have Wallace + 1 Wulver + 1 Grey Rifle for example.
Thanks!
I have a really hard time understanding mike’s accent. Have you ever thought of using subtitles?
heh, im mike frankum, i feel like a little schoolgirl (giggle)
Someone sure likes the word “basically”! 🙂
Cheers for these vids, guys.
Sorry for the strong accent guys, I will make sure to do more efforts with that.
By the way if you are watching the videos on Youtube if I remember you can have some subtitles.
And if you still don’t understand ask your questions on the videos comments, I will make sure to answer them.

Kind of you to say that, Mike, but I am sure our collective English, German and what not accents when we are speaking French (if we can speak it at all) must be worse than yours when you are speaking English! So, no worries, mate!
That helps me as well as some other posts cleared up what misunderstood about the rule. All this time I was under the impression that it was only the class that mattered. Ex: must be all scouts or lights. I got to get more dudes of the same name then.
