so when he has a 4+ coversave if I shoot him and a 3+ “cover” save aka dodge if I ram him ( with the downside of maybe loosing my vehicle to this action) …why in the hell should I try to ram him anyways ? Shooting is better in any possible way.
talking about the guy that did this in the first place ^^
Can you ram buildings?
That would come under the “what sort of game?” box on page 78,which basically says to agree on how buildings work with your opponent before the game, but personally I’d say it makes most sense to play it as any building that’s been given an armour value to allow it to be shot at can be rammed all you like.
The current main rulebook FAQ says you can’t Ram a building.
Is there another version of the ramming a skimmer paragraph out there to the one I have?
Yeah ramming a skimmer to bypass its cover save is a pretty back assward thing to do, but
first thing(well second after stating skimmers ran skimmers as normal) it says is “The ramming tanks stops in contact with the skimmer as normal” so even if the skimmer dodges its still made its move to be in contact with the skimmer, just the same as if it had hit it and done no damage that way. Its deployed to satisfy the prerequisites for arriving from reserve, and its not counted as destroyed.
The bit about stopping in its tracks is just fluff, even so it “stops in its tracks”, “in contact with the skimmer as normal”. so no its not destroyed, the guy caught out by this can be absolutely PO’ed since he was “caught out” by someone not reading the full paragraph.
you are absolutely right !
Yep, according to the rules, it would stop right next to the skimmer, dazed and confused, NOT off the board edge
how could this be …the Cheesemeister failed ? o..O
Sometimes it can look like cheese, smell like cheese, but then when you take a bite, its just chewy milk.
PT-109, but we love you anyhow…
Darrell’s previous fail was small mistake compared to this. How did he fail to know that you can’t even do that. And still he acted like he knows everything.
Would be cool to see this video removed / at least edited because its downright false. ^^
Correct me if I’m wrong but surely the land raider gets placed on the table edge before you announce the tank shock, since thats in the movement phase, so it would just be at the edge of the table where it came in from if it fails its tank shock. If it doesnt move then wouldnt it just go to stay where it began in the movement phase – on the edge of the table? (Ignoring the correction that the dodge means its placed next to the skimmer).
no because you measure your movement from the table edge ( aka the original front of the vehicle ) … so at the beginning of the movement it would be right off the edge
