Dont know too much about the game yet!! Although courage does sound good as I assume it prevents your opponent getting an ARO if you can stand your ground and just shoot back directly next turn.
I am not entirely sure how this worked. Why would the guy have to take a test to see if he goes prone/falls back? Does surviving a template attack need a leadership roll?
I understand the model can choose to pass or fail the test as he wants, but I’m not sure what would have triggered a morale test there.
BEING SHOT AT TRIGGERED THE COURAGE ROL, IF HE WASNT VALOROUS HE WOULD HAVE HAD TO TAKE COVER….BUT BECAUSE THE BUTAI IS VALOROUS HE CAN CHOOSE TO STAND HIS GROUND…..HOPE IT HELPS…………..TAKE CARE!!!!!!!!!
Any model that was hit by ranged combat (and a few other things) and survives, either by saving or by having enough wounds must take a test against its WIP called Guts roll to hold its position, otherwise it must fall out of sight and never towards the source of the hits, this simulates the reflex reaction of the fighter trying to get out of harm, this is a great way to clear areas of models that would make AROs, shoot them and when they fall back out of sight and cannot ARO move the more vulnerable units or cross that open ground.
This is why Special Skill Valour:Courage is important, it allows you to keep your models in those important choke points.
On the other hand sometimes its better for the defender to leave, in this case passing the Guts roll is optional and even models with special skill Courage can choose to fail it automatically and move out of sight.
Thanks Psychoticstorm, that clears it up for me
Adding more detail to what PS said. Fact is a model that fails a guts roll gains a free movement equal to the half part of its first movement value. That movement must be spent trying to reach the nearest cover. There are three kinds of cover: no cover, partial cover and full cover (no LoS). A model that moves for cover must try to achieve at least a higher level of cover than what it already had. That is if the model had no cover then it must reach partial cover; and if it already had partial cover then it must reach full cover.
Where can I get the cool walls used as terrain in the vid?
