Probably will be my army of choice – well, until I see some of the other factions out there lol. I loved Dwarves in KoW and have Dwarf Kings Hold – and play Dwarfs in Warhammer, and of course in RP games so yeah – I think I will be getting into the Forgefather spirit and buying some of these dudes.
Of the concept art we’ve seen so far, these appeal to me more than the marauders, I’m kind of looking forward to the corporation sketches as well though.
Anyone else think that the Forgefathers will be the “poster boys” for Warpath, much like the Marines for 40k? I for one will be picking up a small army of them, although I´m looking forward to see what Warpath will have to offer in regards to Xenomorphs… 🙂
Yup, I think so as well. And it is a welcome change, GW could have had my money but they wend for Weeaboo Space Communists instead. So I’m really hoping they will be the “Posterchildren” of Warpath, it really would signify a rebellion against the overpriced, over complicated and almost dictatorial rule of that company by having the one race they hate as your posterchild :).

I want to hear more about the Norse Forgefathers, who’s weapons are so powerful they are not named after beasts of legend but GODS! I want to hear about Odin’s seers within the dwarves I want to hear about the Loki engine which transports matter! I want to hear about Baldur light and order of Dwarvish skalds who wish the light to shine again so they battle against the scourge of humanity.
Sell me your space opera not just your models, I promise if you do that I will want them anyway!

It might be interesting if you could put together (not necessarily turney legal) themed forces from different races; the berserkers would fit well with the marauders; an unholy union of junk-traders and space pirates, while the upper echelons of the forgefather society might work with the Corp, to get the best tech and support on the field …
Actually, it is pretty much tourney legal!
Most of the races seem to be able to “ally” with most of the other races, taking some of their units. At the very least, so far forgefathers can ally with marauders (and vice versa) and forgefathers can ally with the corporation, so you can do exactly what you described!

I’m liking the sound of heat weapons – a good excuse to try OSL on the heat hammers 🙂
I love the massive scale of future planatairy mining, sounds really dark and grim. Hole sin the planet from taking everything valuable, then taking the rock completely boring THROUGH the planet’s core… and in the end nothing is left but some scraps that not even the Scrappers can use ;). Even the Tyranid aren’t that destructive, but granted they only attack planets with a population on them. The Forgefathers, probably when they aren’t led by a greedy leader, will only probably bother planets without an intelligent species on it. Unless they are greedy of course >:). Greed can run in any race hehe :).
I’ve always been attracted to the small elite armies, (or should that be short?) plus the concept art looks fantastic, looking forward to seeing some concepts on the other races in due course before i chose one though.

The concepts looks very very awsome, however looking at the dwarfs from Kings of War, I hope they do not look awful as they do 😛 If they come out really well, I am so going with them!
With all these goodies mantic game are set to release I’m just glad Christmas and my birthday are so close together. Bring forth the mini’s!!!!!!!!!
