Gale Force Nine and Thunderhead Studio have released some more of their pre-painted HexTech range for use in your 6mm to 10mm wargames. The HexTech range heads out into the wilderness with three new sets for you to choose from.

Atleam Grasslands - Gale Force Nine

Atlean Grasslands // Gale Force Nine

The first of the sets that you'll be able to pick up is for the Atlean Grasslands and four painted hills that you can drop onto your hex maps for a range of different games like BattleTech. Whilst the hex designs on the pieces very much fit into that style of game, there's no reason they can't be used for other games that don't use gridded movement like Legions Imperialis, Polyversal, Future War Commander and more.

If you're looking for more features to play with, you can also get the Rivers & Lakes set.

This comes with eighteen river sections which you can use alongside the lakes to create a network of waterways on your tabletop. These are great for blocking off areas of a map to the likes of infantry, making you think about how you're going to take and hold portions of the map. BattleTech players will also be grateful for the lakes so they can dip their mechs in and cool off!

Infantry will quite like the idea of hunkering down within the Light & Heavy Woods set.

This should provide you with a good selection of pre-painted terrain to build some interesting wilderness locations on the tabletop. It's all well and good fighting your way through urban environments and ruins but sometimes you want to change things up and try out a different battlefield.

You could even play with some interesting gameplay mechanics around the woods where they give a benefit to infantry hiding inside them but if enough firepower comes in, they could get blasted to smithereens, opening up new spaces for fighting and a more dynamic battlefield.

Are you going to be picking up some more of these HexTech sets from Gale Force Nine?
