Set The Scene With Great Escape Games’ New Wild West Terrain
May 8, 2026 by brennon
Adding to their range of plastic terrain for Dead Man's Hand, Great Escape Games has released some new resin add-ons which can be used to enhance your buildings and inject some life into those Wild West townships on the frontiers where you'll be holding your shootouts.
Doctors // Great Escape Games
The Setting the Scene collection introduces a bunch of different sets which can be used to add to building exteriors but also interiors. For example, you can get a couple of different signage options for your plastic buildings. You have Dr M. Quinn's Doctors here above and the General Store below. Both staples of pretty much any frontier town.

Both of these sets take the plastic buildings that are already available and bolt on some additional bits and pieces to create the notable buildings from your town. They are very nice and will be helpful for those looking to do more with the existing buildings in the range.
My favourite collection of bits, however, is in the smaller packs.
Boudoir // Great Escape Games
You can get some neat sets like the Boudoir here, which has been set up for a lady to make herself comfortable with a dressing table and a big mirror. I would imagine that one of the most upstanding ladies in the town makes her home here. Or, one of the most notorious.
You also have the cheaper option for those who can't afford a private room. Here you can see the Bunk House set, which comes with a set of beds, a table and all the fixings.
Bunk House // Great Escape Games
There is also the Hotel Lobby set, which can be used in some of your bigger buildings. These sets don't have to be used for their intended purpose either as they could all be used to give you a fully furnished house or two.

It also makes your tabletop games of Dead Man's Hand infinitely more interesting as you throw tables around, knock over chairs, and hop over counters as the fighting starts. It helps to tell a great story, adding to the narrative of your skirmish games.
Some exterior locations are also covered like this Mining Camp, which has been set up by some old fella seeking to find his fortune down a mine somewhere.

Additionally, even Wild West gunfighters need the toilet and that's where the Outhouse comes in. This is going to be used by someone as a hiding spot as they wait to ambush an outlaw or lawman! It would be great to get a bunch of these and have them as searchable objectives to find your target!

There is more for you to pick up and play around with in this collection. If you're interested, you can get your hands on...
- Doctor's (including building)
- General Store (including building)
- Graveyard
- Miners' Camp
- Boudoir Set
- Bunkhouse Set
- Hotel Lobby
- Outhouse
- Pot Belly Stoves
- Water Tower
These are available in a single bundle, which you can find HERE. You can also buy everything individually HERE if you don't need all of those bits.
Do you have some favourite bits of set dressing from this collection?
