I like these guys. In fact I already have my first 5 althought those are still in box.
No green plastic and the models are pretty much fixed into one pose by the power cords, not impressed with the models, but if its a choice between this or the old metal ones in finecast I’d rather have my wallet raped for 20 quid for 5 plastic guys rather than 30 for 5 bubble filled melty-men with bent weapons.
If the deathmarks had been troops, and the immortals elites with their old profile, would you take deathmarks?
Don’t say the melty…just don’t say his name! Or he will come – and you won’t.
On the Finecast issue remember that if you build Immortals, the Deathmark heads are perfect Plasticryptek (I’m coining that word) fodder.
I just read this. The Megalith is in fact in the new Codex. pg.21
OMG that has actually brought me into tears of laughter
That’s great – now it can randomly spawn Monolith’s too 🙂
Is there any chance that we could get a review of the model as opposed to a review of the unit? I mean honestly, I don’t need to hear Darrell’s opinion of the unit throughout the entire video over and over again. If you tell me to watch a video that is an open box of a new unit, then I expect to see detail about the model and opinions on how it assembles and how it looks. I don’t really care about the unit stats.
The deathmarks look really cool. They are a unique enough looking model, but still clearly belongs to the necron army. That to me is important. The immortals look very similar to the old metal ones, so those are not going to be phased out by these new ones. I am excited about making deathmarks, and then using the back plates for the immorals and putting them with warrior sprues to see if I can get some slightly thinner immortals made.
Overall, I’ve watched several vids now by Darrell, and all he does is badmouth the product in one way or the other, over and over again. I got it, finecast is crap, and unless it is cheese, it sucks. Lets get to some proper reviewing now please.
I have to admin that it would have been nice to see one of each version made so we could have seen them, I know you wouldn’t have much use for them as a unit mixed like that.
Also I would have like to have seen them put together better, there are still a lot of novices who may watch these videas and little moreabout how they go togther and the build, what are nice features, what is difficult to do.
Also it would have been nice to have been a little more constructive and perhaps a little less it’s pants, dont bother!
I think we just have to get used to the fact that everything is crap to Darrell unless it is viciously overpowered.
Bring bakc JOHN. He was the brain behind ‘what’s in the box reviews’. Sorry darrell but you simply don’t stand a chance against him. Nobody cares about your view on what the units can do and they cannot do. You must only review the frames themselves and then make all the possible variants of the minis so that the potential buyers can know ‘what’s in the box’. It’s sooo simple it is.
Regards
Well as for the snipers you have to remember that they’re sixty million years old, everything was much closer in the old days.
I’m glad to finally see some bases but seriously, would like to see some nice up close shots on them. or at least out of the plastic.
deathmarks arent pants
also, like you said in the bubbahotep video, not everything has to kill a land raider!
who cares if they nerfed the immortals! theyre cheaper now! its 20 for five as opposed to 16 for one. besides, they look nicer.
