First Miniatures Previewed For Modiphius’ XCOM Game
June 19, 2026 by brennon
Modiphius has now revealed more about XCOM: The Miniatures Game and shown off some of the brand-new miniatures that you'll be able to get your hands on when pre-orders launch for the game in July! Not long to wait now, Commander.
XCOM Operatives // Modiphius
The game is going to be a solo and/or cooperative wargaming experience where you and a friend can take on the role of Commanders, leading your XCOM team across the globe as they take on the alien threat. You'll craft your unique squad of soldiers and dive into XCOM-style missions that you'll be familiar with from the video game.
In addition to that, loads of other XCOM ideas are being brought into the miniatures game. You'll be able to build your base, research new technology over the course of your campaign and enhance your capabilities so you can deal with the growing alien threat.
Sectoid // XCOM: The Miniatures Game
The game will also feature a player-versus-player mode as an add-on, allowing one player to take on the role of the alien invaders or perhaps the human EXALT who have thrown their lot in with the invading forces. All of this comes from the designers behind the hit wargame, Five Parsecs From Home, so you know it's going to be a pretty darn good experience when it lands on your tabletop.
Thin Man // XCOM: The Miniatures Game
As well as miniatures for your XCOM Operatives and classics like the Sectoids and the Thin Men, you will also find miniatures for Outsiders, Floaters, Seekers and Infection Pods as part of the first wave of pre-orders. Plus, additional releases will cover the likes of EXALT, MEC Troopers, Drones, Mutons, Veteran Operatives and much more. Pretty much everything that you could think of from the XCOM games.
A lot of this will be coming up for pre-order in July, starting with the Core Rulebook.
XCOM Core Rulebook // Modiphius
What's even better is that when the Core Rulebook goes up for pre-order, you'll be waiting for the physical rulebook but the PDF will be available right away. This means that you can dive into playing games of XCOM with whatever miniatures you have in your collection, perhaps digging back into your Stargrave miniatures?
Make sure to keep an eye on their landing page for XCOM for more information and watch out for pre-orders in a couple of weeks.
Are you going to be picking up XCOM: The Miniatures Game?

So excited for this! Been playing it since the original! The models look great as well. Expensive summer ahead!!!
Oh, NOICE!
Oh, nice! Can’t wait to have the dice roll snake eyes on that one easy shot that I really needed to make! XCOM, baby!
Time to name your minis after your acquintinces and friends and see them die horribly …. or is that just me playing x-com
I hope the operatives kit has lots of options, it wouldn’t be XCOM if you can customize your guys. The Guile head option is a requirement imo
Well I hears the Minis are going to be resin (certainly given the images of the Aliens sculpts I can see why, I LOVE the poses). For the XCOM Operatives I certainly hope they add the holes for magnetising the arms (and heads). The problem with the Operatives (if it follows the computer game in any way), you’re going to need to swap armaments on each figure (Assault Rifle, HMG/Rocket Launcher, Sniper Rifle, Shotguns, and finally Pistols). Next up the technology for the guns are going to change to things like Rail Guns, Lasers etc. Then you’ve got all the various amour they are going to need (going from Flak Armour up to Power Armour). So the Operatives are just a big “lego kit” of alternatives, and are going to be a pain to do if they are going to do them as multi-part minis (or HIDEOUSLY expensive if they do mono poses for each possible variation). But the strong point in the previews are definitely the Aliens, the poses on the sculpts perfectly mimic the movement of their animated computer game counterparts (and I’m going to definitely dive in at the very least for my “favourites” in the roster, if not all of them 😀 ).
