Pre-Order Archon’s New StarCraft Miniatures Game Starter Sets

A new set of three Starter Sets are available to pre-order from Archon Studio for those wanting to dive into the StarCraft: TableTop Miniatures Game. You'll be able to pick up sets for the Terran, Zerg and Protoss ahead of a release at the end of September.

Terran Starter Set // StarCraft: Tabletop Miniatures Game

Each of the sets gives you a solid 1000 Minerals starting force for use in the game. Each of these sets can be used in conjunction with the Rules and there is also an App that can be used to guide your first games in StarCraft on the tabletop.

The first of the sets is for the Terrans and comes with a solid core of troops for you to get started. There are your classic Marines, Medics and Marauders alongside a Goliath for good measure. You will also get your various cards and tokens that you'll need during gameplay and a rules reference, which is handy.

Secondly, you can swap all the armour for the teeming hordes of Zerg and their Starter Set.

Zerg Starter Set // StarCraft: Tabletop Miniatures Game

Again, this is a 1000 Mineral force which features your classic Zerglings making up the bulk of the starter force. You can then bulk out this force with the addition of the Roaches and the Hydralisks alongside a terrifying Queen.

It should be noted that whilst you're seeing the painted miniatures for each of the sets here, the miniatures come on sprues, so you'll need to assemble them but with the added benefit of coming in pre-coloured plastic. The Terrans are in blue, the Zerg are in pink/purple and the Protoss are in yellow. A lot of the miniatures also feature see-through plastic elements, which you can ignore painting to give them a distinct look on the tabletop.

This is most apparent on the miniatures for the Zerg but also the Protoss, with all of their shields and crystals.

The final starter set is for the Protoss and comes with an array of iconic miniatures in the form of the Zealots, Adepts, Stalkers and Sentries. A good way for you to secure your victory on the tabletop with the elite firepower and martial skill of the Protoss.

These look like they are just the ticket for someone who wanted to dive into StarCraft on the tabletop but couldn't afford to go all-in during the initial pre-order period of the game. The Terran and Zerg sets come in around the £90 mark and the Protoss one is a little more expensive at around £95, depending on where you buy it from. They have a solid chunk of miniatures inside, alongside all of the extra stuff you need to start playing.
