TTCombat has been releasing some stunning new 32mm scale miniatures for their skirmish game, Carnevale. The sculptors working on the new miniatures for the game have been doing a brilliant job of creating new and interesting characters that can fit into a mix of factions.

Serenade of Sorrow - Carnevale

Serenade of Sorrow // Carnevale

We start with the Serenade of Sorrow, who fits into the Gifted in your games of Carnevale. She was once Isabella, a celebrated violinist who was invited to Venice to play. When the Vatican calamity happened, the magical wave that hit the city turned her into the spirit that you see here. She now wanders the canals yearning for companionship, drawing unfortunates to the edge of the water before dragging them down into the depths. A proper siren!

Next up, we have my favourite from the new collection in the form of Yune Lobravym.

Yune Lobravym - Carnevale

Yune Lobravym // Carnevale

This fearsome Strigoi lycan is one of the few who has mastered the curse. A cunning spellcaster and ritualist, he uncovered the rites that enabled him to temper his curse, allowing him to transform at will. Even though he does have some command over his bestial side, if he suffers too much pain in battle, then the beast can rip its way out from inside.

You get two miniatures in the set. One of them represents Yune in his human form and the other introduces the wolf within. I think they've done an amazing job on these miniatures, packed with detail and with plenty to link the two together aesthetically.

Going back to the unfortunates, we also have the Drowned Nun for the Rashaar.

Crowned Nun - Carnevale

Drowned Nun // Carnevale

Once a devout servant of the Church, this nun was killed by a gang of thugs who chased her through the streets of Venice before drowning her in the canal. As she sank beneath the surface, the truth was revealed to her and she renounced her beliefs, accepting the truth of Dagon.

She is now his prophet, using her voice to spread the Word of Dagon, preparing for his return and bringing more servants to her side. The miniature captures the unfortunate corruption of the poor nun, her holy raiments now despoiled by Dagon's gifts. Stunningly creepy.

The last of the new characters comes in the form of Don Gregorio Morosini for the Patricians.

Don Gregorio Morosini - Carnevale

Don Gregorio Morosini // Carnevale

Morosini is a powerful member of a banking dynasty and acts as The Treasurer. He collects debts through the acquisition of rare artefacts rather than simply gold. This collection of artefacts is then infused with dark magic and supernatural energy. Morosini has blurred the line between a collector and a sorcerer and now uses that power to hold sway over Venice.

A fun miniature with a distinctly creepy vibe to him, especially when you bring into play that absolutely monstrous monkey on his shoulder. I don't want to know why it's smiling.

Sticking with the Patricians, we also have this new Venetian Carriage, which was added into the mix for Carnevale.

Venetian Carriage - Carnevale

Venetian Carriage // Carnevale

This carriage is a nice, refined mode of transportation for the citizens of Venice. It is a good way to travel in style and would be brilliant for setting up some cool scenarios. I could imagine a carriage chase through the tight streets of Venice or perhaps a rampaging carriage smashing its way around a garden during a party gone wrong.

As an extreme end, we also have another new miniature for that collection from TTCombat. See what you make of the Extreme Hospodar.

Extreme Hospodar - Carnevale

Extreme Hospodar // Carnevale

This miniature comes with two head options. You can either give him his bat wing helmet or have him unhelmeted, hair flowing in the wind. A nice new miniature drawn from their MyMiniFactory collection that could fit into the Strigoi of Carnevale. A brutal warlord from the Wallachian Warhost looking to burn their way through Venice.

What do you make of these various miniatures from the Carnevale range?
