I discovered Wofun miniatures last week and have been devouring their website for information. Im interested in a american war of independence range of miniatures. However im burned out from painting and assembling miniatures. I watched a youtube video of someone who painted the plexiglass edges of his wofun miniatures and that little bit made then look much better. I read somewhere that you liked wofun miniatures a lot and then you mentioned them on todays weekender. Currently im on the fence. Do you think that i should jump over and go for it?
Not Gerry (there is only one) but if you’re burned out from painting, would a Sharpie do the same job?
The video was Leon’s wasn’t it. They looked great. I’m still in two minds whether to do the edges or not myself.
I would say definitely go for it. I favour the 18mm range and for the price they’re incredible.
With the Peter Dennis signature range coming they’ll have a different look to their main range so you can pick the style you’re after.
I think I’ll be after the Peter version for napoleonics
Yes it would although there is stepping because it’s laser cut so some grooves may be inaccessible.
I’m honestly not sure it it’s worth it for my ancients though.
When it comes to a new mini range I say buy a set of rank file units and one sculpt that “speaks to you”, rank and file to discover how enjoyable or not the grind will be if you commit to the range, the sculpt you like is for checking out details and if its a character how daft the assembly is (I. E. Got some malifaux minis years ago turned out to be lovely sculpts but clearly poorly designed as they were virtually impossible to get off the sprue without snapping the details off)
@timchubb wofun are 2D standees with the detail printed on them. All you do is cut them from the sprues and pop them in the bases, so there is no assembly or even painting if you don’t want to do the sides.
@avernos even better then, presume sharpie or paint pens is as effective as paint on the edges?
I have a question for @avernos too? Sliced bread, best thing ever?
