    Morning lads and lasses.

It’s 6:30 am, 18°C and forecast for my tiny region here is around the 24’ish mark. Bareable. Looking to the south of Germany up to but not limited to 40°C.

Stay the flock indoors and drink a lot!

I think Winnie is working with the butcher. Why else would there be honey glazed ham?

Pledge: I have the out-laws coming in this week, so I lose my hobby space all week. I barely got to look at my 11e box and had to put it away.

Solo: I have the WORST opponent. He cheats, moves my pieces when I’m not looking, and is a real bastard. 🤪

Good news, I won my most recent VAC decision, and got approved for a program under VAC which provides assistance I really need. That’s three positive decisions in my favour in a row. Life altering. Also got to ride about 600km on my two new bikes this week – once in drizzle, miserable, with 40kmh crosswinds. Ugh.

Music: I’m taking a break from music for a while, for random reasons.

Hopefully back at it in about a week; the worst part, is this week is going to be rainy and cold – perfect hobby weather. Boo, no room.

@limburger FUN FACT: Winnie the Pooh was named after Winnipeg; my Regiment, the Fort Garry Horse, brought Winnie the bear cub with them (a Veterinary Corps officer adopted him) to England in WW1. Before shipping off to France, the officer donated the bear to the London Zoo, where AA Milne took a young Christopher and told silly stories … which became the Winnie the Pooh stories.

what is it with armies and bears ?
I think the Polish army in WW2 had one as a mascot too ?

(also : Pooh bear without the red shirt is the best version … that Disney version is too clean)

Woke to the sound of loud thunder at 4am. Had another terrible nights sleep because of the heat again, so it was pleasant to stand on the door step and feel the rain splashin against my skin despite the early start.

Maybe I’ll be able to drift off to sleep again soon.
