August 23, 2019 at 12:08 am #1428931Finally getting back to posting here than the regular Weekender. I got my hands on some figures from a friend that has played for some time but never got to painting his stuff from old. Here I present what I think is a Grenadier model from circa 1985-87. More to come in future.

August 23, 2019 at 6:54 am #1428959…and now on to something completely different. When reading the latest issue of WS&S Magazine I was instantly drawn into a new period, the French and Indian War. Which was the starting point for World War Zero; aka the Seven Year‘s War. Here is my first try on the first command figure for my Compagnie Franche de la Marine. Mini by AW Miniatures, flag by Flags of War.

Been ages since I posted on here, so sorry about that.
I thought you might like to see a small project I’m working on at the moment though. Painting up some Chaos terminators in true metallic versions of various legion schemes…. What do you reckon?

August 23, 2019 at 3:20 pm #1429172@svboel thanks man
Star Wars Legion are cool looking minis. I recently painted up a squad of Stormtroopers as a paint guide for Army Painter.
Not sure I’d have the will power to paint hundreds of them though 😛

August 24, 2019 at 1:25 am #1429249August 24, 2019 at 5:17 am #1429264I got into a flurry of painting the last few weeks, some of the fruits of my labor:
Darksword Bard

Darksword Fighter

Valiant Miniatures Dwarf

Effin’ Cool Tortle (I think, It was given to me to paint)

Another mini someone asked me to paint. Wizkid/Nolzur

Darksword Ranger – This one was an experiment with “Black 3.0” paint. Cool effect but not good for minis, the surface is super rough when it dries. It worked in the end but was 3x the effort.

A shameless xpost from another thread but I wanted to share the results of playing with my airbrush and seeing the results of a cool metallic paint over large flat panels.
Here I’ve got the Redemptor Dreadnought covered first with Mr. Color Ueno Black, a very good gloss primer, that I thinned with the corresponding product from the same company. After the model sat for a little and dried, lacquer dries quite fast compared to acrylics, I then hit it all with MIG Ammo’s Bluish Titanium. That smeared a little on the glove as I tried to gingerly move the model during my basecoat phase. I’ve worked with this series of paint before and when they state leave it for 24hrs to dry completely they mean it. This means I have some time before I drop a layer of Warhead Metallic Blue over it with some masking for effect and the first gloss coat. I’m thinking of going back with silver and a brass layer before the panel lining and final gloss coat before soing the base.
