My Dante will be accompanied by a Guard unit all with Infernus, and just finishing up the other two Guard units for deep striking and objective seeking. My Maelstrom games order arrived, so I’ll be playing Darrell’s Mechanized Assault spearhead with 2 land raiders and a redeemer. Three Aegis cannon dreadnoughts will lend heavy support or a Tank Hunting spearhead.
Dante with Sanguiniary Guards, equipped with Infernus Pistols. Probably add a Priest in there as well just to make them even so much more annoying for the opponent. A whole unit with 2+ saves and 4+ feel no pain is good enough against any non-AP1/2 weapons. And it will give them that extra initiative that the guards lack to fight first on the charge. This would most likely be my heaviest unit in the force as well at 550 points.
This would have a backup of assault marines in a redeemer, probably 2-3 more guards, vindicator and maybe a dreadnought or two. (Fast Vindicators has proven to be extremly deadly.)
Oh, something I’ve kept noticing when you guys mention the Death Masks, you say it reduces the WS with 1, but this is not really the case cause it reduces the WS to 1. Basically making you hit on 3+ against them and they hit on 5+ against you.
As I am not a fan of the Sanguinary Guard (too preaty), I think Dante could make death company viable. With Dante’s hit and run after an assult you can move any direction you wish, and with a 3D6 roll you could move close enough to rage towards another unit.
The Death Mask does reduce the stats to 1. That’s what they read out!
