Warlord Games Reinforce The World War II Gurkhas For Bolt Action

June 30, 2026 by brennon

Following on from the release of the plastics set for the World War II Gurkhas to use with Commonwealth forces in Bolt Action, you can now pre-order a whole bunch of Gurkha reinforcements to use alongside them on the battlefield via Warlord Games.

Gurkha HQ - Bolt Action NEW

Gurkha HQ // Bolt Action

The new miniatures from Warlord all fit in alongside the aforementioned plastic miniatures and allow you to fill out your Commonwealth army to include more Gurkhas, perhaps as their own standalone force if you'd prefer. For example, you've got the Gurkha HQ set above, which comes with miniatures to represent your Officers as well as miniatures for a Radio Operator and Medic.

Gurkha Platoon Commanders - Bolt Action

If you want to continue with your leaders, then you can also get your hands on the Gurkha Platoon Commanders set, which comes with a further four figures. Use these as leader figures for your Rifle, Artillery, Heavy Weapon and Recce Platoons, armed with a variety of different weapons. You'll also note that this set comes with a miniature that could well be a British Officer who has been drafted in to aid the Gurkhas in their endeavours.

Gurkha Weapon Teams

The Gurkhas are fierce fighters in their own right but they will also need some support from a variety of weapon teams and heavy weapons to level the playing field against the enemy.

The Gurkha Weapons Team comes with three different weapons to bolster your Rifle Platoons in Bolt Action. You've got a Boys Anti-Tank Rifle alongside a light two-inch Mortar and a Sniper team who can set up in the depths of the jungle and "take care" of specific targets to help sow chaos amongst the ranks of the enemy.

You can also level up the damage output with a Gurkha Heavy Weapons Platoon.

The majority of the miniatures you've been seeing here are actually all made in Warlord Resin and in this case, what you're getting for the Heavy Weapons Platoon is a set of resin figures which pair with the plastic British heavy weapons that Warlord Games has recently released.

This set comes with a Medium Mortar and Medium Machine Gun alongside one of the Platoon Commanders that we've looked at already. You can also combine this with the plastic Gurkha set in order to get more options and poses out of it.

The Mortar Team and Machine Gun Team are also available separately if you'd like to get them that way.

Lastly, you can also get a team for taking out armoured targets should they rumble into view. There's only so much damage that a kukri can do! That's where the Gurkha 6-pounder Anti-Tank Gun comes into play.

This weapon was the standard anti-tank gun for the Late War and used extensively by the British and Commonwealth armies around the globe. It was brutal against the lightly armoured Japanese tanks and was used by the Indian army and the Gurkhas to hold the Japanese to a standstill in Asia.

Gurkha Starter Army

All of this can be picked up alongside a new Ayo Gorkhali! Gurkha Starter Army from Warlord Games, which is also available to pre-order.

This is a great way for you to build a Starter Army for the Gurkhas and the British Commonwealth in the new edition of Bolt Action. You get forty-two plastic Gurkhas alongside a variety of weapon teams and command packs that we've seen above in Warlord Resin. There are also two tanks in there in the form of the M3 Medium and M5 Light tank that will be deadly against the Japanese.

Are you going to be choosing the Gurkhas for Bolt Action?
