WW2 British & US Get New Plastic Heavy Weapons For Bolt Action
June 22, 2026 by brennon
Warlord Games are taking pre-orders for four new sets of plastic Heavy Weapons for those diving into playing Bolt Action. Both the British and the United States get their hands on new plastic anti-tank guns and heavy weapon platoons which can be used alongside the rest of the Bolt Action plastic range. Perfect for those starting out in the game.
British 6-Pounder Anti-Tank Gun // Bolt Action
We kick off with the British 6-Pounder Anti-Tank Gun which was a key addition to the Allied fighting force during World War II. In North Africa, these guns were used to destroy more than fifteen tanks in a single action at the Second Battle of El Alamein. It was the first gun that was able to knock out the deadly German Tiger.
This set comes with one of those guns (but is also builds the US 57mm - more on that later) with standard or hinged trail legs for an airborne force. It also comes with a crew frame allowing you to build the British Army during the Mid-to-Late War but it would also work for Commonwealth forces as well. You get a bunch of different options for heads, arms and equipment to build the crew alongside enough to make an extra soldier that fits in a Platoon Commander or perhaps a spotter.
As mentioned above, this kit also forms part of the US 57mm Anti-Tank Gun kit for the lads from over The Pond.
US 57mm Anti-Tank Gun // Bolt Action
This gun was introduced into the US army in 1943 and became a standard anti-tank gun by the middle of 1944. It was used throughout Northern Europe and Italy and whilst it wasn't as handy as the British gun above at penetrating German armour, it was effective in combat. It was quick to move and could be easily concealed. It also, thanks to technology and the crews, had a good rate of fire.
This set allows you to build one of these guns and comes with the sprues for making Mid-to-Late War United States soldiers to use in the same way as the British gun. You also get a nice set of extra bits and pieces like shells which can be used to decorate your gun's base.
Heavy Weapon Teams
In addition to the anti-tank guns, you can also get your hands on Heavy Weapons Platoons for the British and the United States.
British Heavy Weapons Platoon // Bolt Action
This set comes with two heavy weapons frames each with a Vickers MMG with its tripod alongside ammunition and water cooling can. You will also get the medium and heavy mortar options alongside a bipod and baseplate plus additional ammunition options.
There are also three crew frames in the set allowing you to create twelve crewmen for your British weapons. You get a range of head options, arms, equipment and the various ammo cases and such that you can use for decorating your bases.
US Heavy Weapons Platoon // Bolt Action
The US Heavy Weapons Platoon has the same array of options for your crew but you instead get one .30 cal M1919 medium machine gun, two .50 cal heavy machine guns (one standard M2 Heavy Barrel and one AN/M2 barrel) with two tripods, one M1 81mm medium mortar with bipod and a selection of ammunition.
This now means that you've got all of the basics for starting an Allied force for the British and US in games of Bolt Action. All of it is now available in plastic alongside regular infantry and tanks. You can, in fact, find two new Starter Army bundles on the Warlord Games website HERE which will allow you to do just that.
Could this be enough to tip you over the edge into starting up a new army for Warlord Games' Bolt Action?
