About the Project
I have decided to help keep my motivation, to do a weekly update of what I have been doing. This will hopefully stave off the fatigue of the never ending pile of potential, and also reassure me that I am sort of making progress. The project will have a range of miniatures from different genres such as kingdom death monster, burrows and badgers, moonstone, marvel crisis protocol, Star Wars shatterpoint and everything in between. The last count was about 850 miniatures, that need to be painted. Normally they are then stored away but at least they will be completed.

Midweek update
Thought a midweek update would be a good idea, just as I can.
The Black Scorpion mounted warrior has now been completed. I feel that I could take it further but for a mini just bought in a whim, I think it is at a reasonable level.
I even did the base (not well but I did it) and for the first time used some cork for a rock. The effect is slightly amateurish but as I am an amateur painter, I think that’s OK.
I did drop the horse a couple of times so there was some damage to the head.
I have a photo of all of the paints used although it may be missing some of the greys for the rocks.
Now need to take a day or so and decide what to do next.
i think by the latest calculations that takes me down to about 840 minis still left that I have and want to paint. Practically finished.
Week 44
Actually on time this week.
Only worked on the one model this week as I was bored with painting in batches.
I decided to go with the Salute specific model from black scorpion. I think it was just called a mounted grand Marshall but haven’t gotten round to check.
Only about half done but the WIP is as follows:
The colours used so far
Hoping to finish it next week. Does completing the horse and the rider count as one or two minis?
Week 43
Over the last week I have worked on completing the Bretonian Blood Bowl team.
Also managed to get my remaining Burrows and Badgers miniatures primed so that is another 30 odd minis ready to paint.
The plan is to give it a few days and pick something, it may even be the High Elf blood bowl team just so I can say that it has all been completed.
I would do a poll on what to do next but no one is likely to comment.
The options I will consider are a few miniatures from:
Marvel Crisis protocol
Blood Bowl High Elf team
Burrows and Badgers
Kingdom death monster
Yoroni
Anyway the photo of the Bretonians, more photos can seen in my Blood Bowl project
Weeks 41 & 42
wow I don’t seem to be rubbish and updating these entries at the moment.
not much hobby done in the last couple of weeks as went away for a week and work then took priority. However, some slight progress with some of my Bretonian Blood Bowl team. Not enjoying the process at the moment but have a few days off work at the end of week so hopefully will get the team finished and move onto something else.
I think that the next couple of project needs to a singular model so that there is no chance of batch painting, and also make sure I wet pallet to get back in the habit
Weeks 40 & 41
Looks like I missed last weeks post so here is another belated update.
I finished the Tomb Kings team, it could’ve been better but they will do.
I then focused on building some more miniatures, so a few more Star Wars shatterpoint minis have been built. I do need to make a concerted effort to paint some of them.
As an update with the amount of miniatures needing painting, my spreadsheet shows as follows:
So still have plenty left to do.
To help I also primed some mire in the recent nice weather. I also started on my Bretonians team for blood bowl. Which I am hating, I have almost packed them away in multiple occasions but here is a WIP,
As I am away next week, I expect little progress
Belated Week 39
Just some more blood bowl miniatures completed.
The team should be finished and based before the end of this week, as just the linemen to go. So should be finished.
Week 38
Not too much done this week but have painted the 4 Tomb Guardians.
just 10 more players and then I can base them.
Also went to Salute and pick up a few models
As you can see there is some Burrows and Badgers, some Black Scorpion miniatures – the king in the frog is pretty cool, some Moonstone, and some Bushido.
so 26 new miniatures to the potential pile. Although the mouse from burrows and badgers and the female warrior from Black Scorpion were free so not sure they should count
Week 37
Moonstone gnomes are done. Sort of. As I was painting one of them I realised I was missing a small piece. So have another on its way. Thanks Mick from goblin king games for sorting it.
’Finished’ gnomes
And an image of the my gnomes together.
I then also built my High elves for blood bowl. Just need them primed and will look to catch up on my blood bowl next – just the 3 official teams to go.
However, first up I have the Blood Bowl Vargheist for the vampire team. I hated this model, it was a c*** to build and I also hated building it. I have a 3rd party 3d printed one which I think has a better sculpt and was more fun to paint. But anyway, here is the final model.
Finally this week also started my blood bowl tomb kings (Khemri) dry undead team.
I started with the tomb guardians and the one of the WIPs is as follows. Still a bit to do it but a decent start
So, at least the numbers are sort of going down.
But going to Salute next weekend so I am sure that I will be completely responsible and only get one or two miniatures. I am sure that will happen.
