Wargames Atlantic Reveal New Setting & Game, Colonial Suns!

Wargames Atlantic revealed a new setting, game and miniatures range that they have been working on. This should be great for fans of Victorian Science Fiction as they delve into the wonderful Colonial Suns!

Colonial Suns is a new Victorian Science Fiction setting which is based in hard science and also stays true to Earth's History. This means that the setting has no aether, no habitable Mars or Venus and not even the Moon! It also has no Steampunk added into the very interesting mix.

"What I did want was interesting locations, even more interesting alien races, the nations of Earth racing to stake their claims across a stellar network of a dozen plus worlds with high tensions among both themselves and the native inhabitants of those places with shifting allegiances and Realpolitik and the Great Game on an interstellar scale. And Napoleon! 

There have been significant changes geo-politically on Earth since Napoleon and his Old Guard summoned the first "Sky Whale" to Egypt in 1815 and found themselves on Haarkuun several weeks later. Humanity has had over 40 years to contend with the reality of this much larger universe. But human nature doesn't change and humanity in 1866 is much like in our own timeline."

As it stands, there will be hard plastic sets for the humans of the setting, which will essentially be Imperial Conquest sets. There will also be alien races like the Haarkuunians above, giving you a force to face off against on the tabletop. This will then blend into a game-in-a-box, which will feature three factions, all landing properly in 2027.

Being a fan of the Oshiro Models Martians, the main race is born out of them and the range was picked up by Wargames Atlantic and has now been redesigned to work in hard plastic. They look stunning. There are two more Haarkuunian sprues on the way, which is very cool.

You also have these rather fun Krukari Warriors.

This crab-like race are tribal nomads who will act as a mercenary force for both the Humans and the Haarkuunians. They will first be released digitally so you can drop them into whatever game you like before eventually becoming a plastic kit.
