90 days
Yep, they are very cool, may be expensive, but they all have feel no pain aswell. I use them as objective holders or walk them up the table to soak up a lot of the enemy fire. I converted a couple of normal chaos marines to fill out the squad to 10. Cmon games workshop, why still with with not-quite-full-squad boxs?!?!
The excuse would be that 7 is Nurgle’s sacred number and Tzeench’s is 9, so you get 9 thousand sons marines. Of coarse that falls flat on its coupon when Khorne’s number is 8 and you get 12 berserkers, and slanash’s is 6 but you get 8 noise marines…
Also spare a thought for the poor wee eldar, their storm guardians are a 10 strong *minimum* unit but the box only has 8.
Yeah from what I am lead to understand is that in their previous codex, Chaos Space Marines got a bonus for have a squad in the number of the god that they represent.
If you took the legion troops in the correct squad size, you got a free aspiring champion upgrade (13 points).
So, for example, if you took 8 Chaos marines and gave them the mark of Khorne, you would get a free champion upgrade.
ahh, the good old diverse CSM codex, those were the days . . . 😛
… and yes, the sword is meant to be broken…
hmm… if they all can take a pistol with cc weapon… I would use them as nurgle`s bezerkers would be nasty, but I don’t play chaos marines
You don’t have to “take” the pistol and CCW with chaos marine troops they all come with them and a bolter as well, so they’ve always got both options- the extra shot at 12″ or the extra attack on the charge, the exceptions being the thousand sons only have a bolter but get feel no pain, AP3 bolters and slow and purposeful and berzerkers who get another extra attack and furious charge in place of their bolters.
hasn’t John already unboxed these?
yeah they’re redoing all the vids john has done e.g. basilisk is one I can think of.
What exactly happened to John, anyway…?
Darrel is great, but what happened to everyone else? If I want list building or play tips, Darrel is the man, but for painting and modeling I think of john. What happened to him? Was he 40k radio’d?
lol no 40kRadio conspiracy here lol
Johno is studying at Uni (or at least spending his time researching the student union!) so he only gets to hope behind the camera when hes back in the country.
Our man Darrell is picking some of his favourite models to unbox and like to talk about them from a tactical point of view – same as Andy does for the warmachine stuff.
So there are some key models that we’re just revisiting while all the cool new stuff is in the pipeline.
It is great to hear that you three are still all together on BoW! I was wondering where you were as well Warren. If john is at university, then he should have more time!
Nice work guys!
Would love to so you make a video on the Thousand son’s marines Darrell mostly becuse I want to here your opinion on them 🙂
Thank you Darrel, thank you. Been waiting for a unbox-vid for those sick bastards.
Does this mean that the plague marines have bolters, bolt pistols and close combat weapon in one model?
Yep, so do noise marines and the regular grunt chaos marines.
Toughness 5 and feel no pain for 7 points more than a space marine. An important thing to note though is that they have initiative 3. Worth it though I think.
Hi,
Darrell & John, I like both your approaches to unboxing. Darrels’ style is a bit more cynical and some of John’s more tongue-in-cheek humour, allways a good way to end the day with and go to bed with a smile.
Uhmm, Darrell, – my son is becoming a “Cheesemaker” – lately he tried to convince me he could have a “coversave” because he glued a little bush on the base of a 40k grot – so the grot had a movable coversave….
That boy is only 8 years of age! (can he do that- I mean the coversave like that??? – now he intend to glue a little concrete wall on the bases)
I told him what cheesemaking is all about.,( thanks to you we know all about it)
Thanks, keep on the good work.
Hey Darrell why didn’t you think of that?
