Errm, will you be covering the units as you’ve done with Orcs and Gobbos, Grey Knights and what not? It was a great video, it’s just really interesting to see you consider each individually.
I can understand that it’s a massive amount of work though, so much obliged for the review.
We have some of the boxes of Tomb Kings stuff that Darrell will be unboxing for our What’s in the Box show. He’ll have a chat about each of them during those.
However, this is the first in our new In the Spotlight show format. I hope you liked it.
BoW Andy
I like the format.
I asked in another thread if you were doing a tomb kings ‘week’ , but what I was really after was an overview of whats in the book, which is exactly what you did.
I’ve been toying with the idea of a fantasy army for a while, mainly because its something new to paint to be honest, I like a lot of the fantasy miniatures, and I figured choosing one of the updated armies would be best, I’m still erring towards Orcs if I’m honest.
Oh, and GW still carry the Bone Giant model on their website.
Thanks for that.
The feedback has been generally good, bar the inevitable “Orcs got a week… why don’t my army get a week!” YouTube comments.
We’re going to be rolling out more of the In the Spotlight show soon. It gives us a chance to showcase some of the really cool games you may never have heard of and some blasts from the past that should never have gone away! 😉
I’m glad you enjoyed it.
BoW Andy
Will this include Warhammer Quest Andy? 😉
Loved the new format. I’d like to thank you guys once again for the work and time you put in for us (though I’m sure it doesn’t seem like work to you guys) 🙂
Absolute right the Horses are so terrible. Skeleton Horses with Tails???? My Brother started with tomb kings and iam looking forward to fight against him with my Vampires. By the way my Vampires were completly build from the Mantic undead. And they have cool undead Horses 😉
I think it would be fun to see which Army will win when booth are unstable 🙂 How many options are there at the Tomb Kings Army Book to raise their looses? I can hardly imagine that there is only this small amount.
i remember the good old days when it was just THE UNDEAD now i just have 2 small armies mind you they turned my chaos army into 3 armies
I feel like I’m in bizarro-world. It doesn’t even sound right to say the words Darrell, Fantasy, and Fluff in the same sentence.
Did someone trick him and tell him there were spacewolf tactics at the back of this book?
Named Character wont be cheesy. GW is trying to make a balanced edition here….less magic items means less strange combos they never considered. Special characters will be good for points, but not insane. This is a good direction for warhammer…and the gesture towards trying to balance things is a good direction for the game.
For the special characters there are two that I feel are worth using. The first is Arkhan the Black he is effective a Lv 5 wizard and is extremely powerful with the ability to store dispell dice and turn them into power dice next turn. The second is the Grand Heirophant. who is a lv 4 wizard with lore master and the ability to reroll his casting rolls. As for items there are two that I think is insanely amazing. Both of the arcane items are nice. Neferra’s scrolls of mighty incantations gives bonus dice to cast one spell equal to the caster level of the wizard. Good for getting that extra spell off at the end of the magic phase and things like that. Enkhil’s Kanopi lets you dispell remain in play spells that are on the table of your opponents on a 2+ and then give you power dice to boot. Yes it is a bound spell but chances are you will get all of your power dice that you used to cast it back.
the only thing i dont get is why the guy presenting the show has never read the book??? Nor is he a fantasy player! surely it would make more sense and a better video if we had someone who showed some kind of interest in the subject and some knowledge of the game and environment hosting the show……
Why?
I was asking the questions I thought were relevent as I looked through the book. I play plenty of fantasy, just not Warhammer Fantasy Battles, although I’m well versed in the Warhammer Fantasy RPG, which WHFB is based on.
I had skimmed the book before going on the program, but not enough that I knew a great deal about the contents. I was in the same position as everyone else who hasn’t read the book is, when they first pick it up.
I simply gave my opinion on the stuff… that’s what the show is about.
BoW Andy
I second that sentiment Andy.
You guys do a great job of simply capturing what it’s like to be at the local gaming club and listening in on a good conversation.
Keep up the good work, and thanks for putting in all the time to do it.
Good vid guys. I am counting on Darrell’s influence to get us necron players necron week however 😛
Chariots ranks also give you +1 impact attacks
Also they’re the backbone of the army, always has been too, the other core units are there to soften up the other guy’s army for a chariot change
oh come on, don’t let someone present WHFB stuff who is absolutly bored by it, you could hear in every sentence how he’s not enthusiastic about it, making the whole video a drag. It’s a shame as i really enjoy the Tomb Kings release, you must have someone at BOW that enjoys WHFB and presenting it.
Let Andy go back to his alternative systems and let him foulmouth /be bored about GW there,
sorry, thats just my 2 cents
Would like to be able to comment on the video but it’s telling me the You TUbe account has been terminated and the video has been deleted 🙁
