Just a short status from a users perspective. Firefox still throws the old “failed to load plug-in” massage.
[See https://www.ontabletop.com/forums/topic/failed-to-load-plugin/ ]
New weird things: Search field was enormous and had a weird number on it.

A big void above every entry in the forums.

Both are happening seemingly at random. Can’t force the site to show that. The green number on the search field changes every time.
I’ve had the entire layout go *poof* with my virus scanner blocking suspicious connections for ‘beastsofwar.com’ due to expired certificates.
Maybe there are some forgotten links to ye old domain in the code somewhere ?
@sundancer will have look at the plugin failure to load issue. Have also cleared the site cache as I have been updating plugins the site uses recently and that may explain the search bar and spacing issues.
@limburger is the expired certificates issue something you encountered in the past few days? As for the disappearing layout have you tried clearing your browsers cache and site data? That may do the trick.
definitely the past few days.
I also noticed that firefox tries to convert tabletop.com to http://www.tabletop.com
chrome keeps it as tabletop.com
not sure if that is a quirk of that browser.
I haven’t cleared browser cache or site data yet.
//
browser cache and site data cleared in firefox… let’s see if this works for me.
Not sure why Chrome didn’t appear to need it (yet), but we’ll see.
I’m guessing you meant to write https://ontabletop.com and https://www.ontabletop.com [You’re missing the “on” part].
Technically a domain without the leading sub-domain part “www” is a completely different URL for the browser because those paths are defined on the webserver of the homepage. In most use cases a URL without the leading “www” is converted automatically into the URL with a “www”. That is expected behaviour. The difference is: firefox shows you your actual URL while Chrome “shortens” it for better human readability. Click into the address bar to copy the URL and it’ll show as “www.ontabletop.com”. [In other words: chrome lies to you]
yeah … stupid typo.
Unfortunately it happened again.
Firefox really doesn’t like whatever the heck is going on here.
It also happened on my laptop with Chrome where I could clear browser cache and such.
However it happened again a bit later, which suggests that something is still caching the old references.
