BIG Halo: Campaign Evolved News & The Covenant Are Coming!
October 9, 2026 by brennon
Some big Halo: Flashpoint news from Mantic Games this week. The game is heading back to the first adventure Master Chief went on in Combat Evolved and, most recently, in Campaign Evolved. The Master Chief, Spartan 117, is heading back to battle the Covenant in a new board game plus more.
Halo: Campaign Evolved - The Board Game // Mantic Games
At the heart of the new announcements is the coming of Halo: Campaign Evolved - The Board Game. Currently, Halo: Flashpoint covers the fast-paced multiplayer-style battles that you might have seen in the video games, mostly focused on the more modern games but also the likes of ODST and Reach. Well, the new board game takes things back to a narratively focused adventure featuring the Master Chief himself.
Master Chief - Campaign Evolved // Mantic Games
Designed as a one-to-two player game, the board game focuses on the battle between the Master Chief and the Covenant forces on the first of the Halo rings discovered. You'll play through a series of interconnected scenarios that will take you from the initial moments aboard the Pillar of Autumn through the Assault on the Control Room and back to The Maw.
Sangheili Zealot - Campaign Evolved // Mantic Games
One player will take on the role of the Master Chief whilst another second player can take on the role of the Covenant. Or, you can go solo and see if you can best the challenge put together by the devious in-game mechanics. You'll find all sorts of challenging missions to dive into alongside plenty of tactical decision-making, built off the groundwork lain by Halo: Flashpoint.

As you'll see, the game has plenty of of the core Halo: Flashpoint focal points but with a different take on the game itself and how it flows. You'll still find all of those signature weapons in there and miniatures for both the Master Chief and the iconic Sangheili Zealot that folks will remember from The Silent Cartographer. To make the game more approachable, it will also come with cardboard standees to represent your foes like Grunts, Jackals, and Elites.

It looks like a great entry point into Halo on the tabletop and will tick a lot of boxes for those who looked at Halo: Flashpoint but didn't want to take the plunge previously. You'll get all of the awesome Halo: Flashpoint fun but focused on the story of Master Chief and his struggle against the Covenant during that first video game outing.
The Covenant & Judgement Expansion!
As well as the Halo: Campaign Evolved board game, you will also be able to sink your teeth into the new Judgement expansion for Halo: Flashpoint.
Judgement Faction Box // Halo: Flashpoint
Judgement goes back to the era of Combat Evolved and the original adventures of Master Chief. The set comes with nineteen new plastic miniatures for Halo: Flashpoint that will help you enhance your collection and give you options for running the Covenant on the tabletop.
Jackal, Elite & Grunt // Halo: Flashpoint
The miniatures from the set cover your Jackals, Elites and Grunts alongside the fearsome Hunters and even an Elite Major to lead the way on the battlefield. If you remember all of those classic Halo villains that you fought against in the early games, this covers all of that!

Elite Major // Halo: Flashpoint
As well as that, the set comes with the notable Prophet of Regret flanked by two of the fearsome and deadly Sangheili Honour Guard. A great option for those perhaps looking ahead to the adventures of Halo 2 on the tabletop as well.

Some more special Elites are on the way as well in the form of the Sangheili Rangers, giving you some fast-paced enemies for you to fight against in games of Flashpoint.

This set will also come with all that you'd expect from a Halo: Flashpoint expansion, including a full-colour combat zone featuring 3D terrain that can be used alongside the original Starter Set and other expansions. You can even use this to build on your existing collection to cover Big Team Battle games and more. You will also get ALL of the cards, tokens, rules and accessories to bring the Covenant to life alongside some exclusive faction dice.
Of course, as you might have already guessed. The miniatures from Judgement can be used to replace the cardboard standees from the Campaign Evolved board game! There are also two exclusive scenarios included in the Judgement box that pit Master Chief against the Hunters!
Even More Halo!
As if that wasn't enough, Mantic Games are also working on some nice bonus options for Flashpoint fans. The Grizzled Sergeant Johnson is on his way.
Sergeant Johnson // Halo: Flashpoint
This fan-favourite character from the Halo series will be available for you to snap up and paint or just slide into your collection and use as an alternative addition to a Fireteam in Flashpoint games.
Sergeant Johnson - Miniature // Halo: Flashpoint
I think you need Sergeant Johnson to go alongside the rest of the Covenant releases, just so you've got the complete suite of miniatures for those early period battles against the Covenant by Master Chief.
Last but not least, there is an additional Score Tracker that was originally available as a promotional item.
Joy/The Weapon Score Tracker // Halo: Flashpoint
Now, everyone can pick up Joy/The Weapon from Halo Infinite and use her to track the progress of your games on the tabletop. A nice little bonus, especially if you missed out in the past.
Some super cool stuff is coming your way for Halo: Flashpoint and I am most excited about what they're doing with the board game, if I'm honest. I also like the idea of taking the range of Halo: Flashpoint miniatures and using them for big Flashpoint battles but also some other games like OnePageRules. I think you could do some fun stuff in the skirmish realm with these.
The pre-orders for these new miniatures start this week and they will be hitting shelves in December!

Excited to see this sort of product but I wish they’d add more to these campaign-style products over time. This likely covers a couple of missions from Combat Evolved/Campaign Evolved. They could add missions for Halo Reach, Halo 3 ODST, Halo Infinite, and even original missions based on the squads they’ve made. Even if it’s something that’s available as a PDF and uses the existing models. Just tired of seeing these sorts of “soloplay” games come out and never see a lick of extra content afterwards…
