I backed for a Cockatrice, and then won a second and opted for the zombie version. I assembled both last night (No pics on me right now). The first went together really well, despite lots of tiny but sharp spikes trying to draw blood. The Zombie version has a few gaps I still need to fill. It appears to have been made of a different material. I don’t know if that’s why it doesn’t fit as well.
Anyway, I am here looking for the help of anyone else who has one built. The zombie bird is stood up on one foot, and it is at an angle preventing it from standing flat on the base. She comes with a 4-5 inch long clear flight stand, maybe 8mm in diameter. There is no connection on either the bird or the base for this. The belly of the bird would sit 1-1.5 inches above the base if the foot were to touch the ground.
I am not sure how to afix the bird to the base. I could measure up and cut the flight stand down, and drill pin holes in each end to attach to the base and the belly? I could attach two halves, one to each wing? Neither seems like a solid option. This also creates issues for painting, as I don’t want to put paint anywhere near a clear flight stand, although I could mask it while I work?
I’ll see about sharing some pics later of both (They are impressive models), but I was hoping someone with one built could share some pics to help me out. I’d also love to see any painted versions of either to help with inspiration.
Here’s some pics of my cockatrices. As you can see by the first pic, there is no way the zombie cock can stand up unaided. I got a response from TTCombat yesterday and they say they will release a build guide for him later a sit is a bit tricky. Sounds like the correct way is to drill a big hole in his belly and insert the flight stand and then cut it down to size. I guess I do the same with the base so I’ll likely need to build that up first with green stuff and perhaps cork? Cover it all in sand and call it a small hill? I do have a small resin wall i could put there instead perhaps?

I built some men at the same time so they ended up in a little diorama while I took the shot. Why not?
