Good on you! Make it a project, no, make it a “battle report” XD

@sundancer – good idea! Super excited to have a full on dedicated space instead of just a side room.

@grantinvanman Congratulations.  A building project is very exciting and getting your own hobby space is what we all dream of.

Here I finished the Sand miniatures (Very much not Atreides versus Harkonnen):

@zoidpinhead thanks! I’m super excited. It was originally supposed to be a bedroom, and then a different home builder had a plan that made better sense. One call to our mortgage broker and bam! Approved. It’s literally a “blue sky” build – we put EVERYTHING we wanted in this build list. Hard to believe.

LOVE THE SAND minis! I’m such a Dune fan, wish I could have got some.

    you lucky git.
I bet Warzan will be jealous of your man cave dungeon 😀

Reminds me that I still need to do stuff to complete mine, which is a mere master bedroom. Then again … my entire house is for me myself and I, so it’s not like I should complain 😉

My final set of Konflikt ’47 bits arrived (dogs, a command unit and rulebooks).
And of course Warlord had to add a free sprue (Epic British Waterloo) … but I iz not tempted.

Flippin’ heatwave should end soon. I’ve done f*ck all as a result of that heat. Too hot to think.

Tuesday. Temps at 23°C feel almost cold. Rains at night, nice air in the morning.

Thinking about finishing my dungeon terrain project (second oldest of my projects)

[insert multiple expletives and angry noises]

UPS managed to f*ck up the delivery.
Ok, so I was not at home … my fault (apparently).
They leave a note that package will be left at a nearby pickup location …
    so far … no worries.
First they did not list that location on the note, so I had to wait for an update from UP.

Guess what that update said ?
    “Delivered at front desk”

    yep … that’s all.

So next port of call is try and contact ‘support’.
    Not going to happen.
All they have is a dumb chat bot that tells you to use their app …
It can’t answer basic questions like “where was my package delivered”.
and when after a lot of trial and error it apparently managed to find a bit of an address.
It was incapable of providing any details.

With a bit more trial & error I got the telephone number for their support ( + 31 2 0 504 0500 if you feel like trying).
Instead of a human you get one of them fancy automated answering machine bots.
repeatedly pressing 0 convinced it to forward the call to a human … (yay)
only for the call to end with : ‘our support is only available from 9 – 1700 ‘

Technically I had two incoming packages via UPS … so in theory both are now waiting for me at an unknown location.

[insert more ranting and cursing … ]

    // — edit —
I just got the ‘delivery notification’ for that second package.
    “Delivered at 17:30”
No it was not you twats.
And like that other package zero info on what location they used.
Can’t file a claim either as that is something only senders can do for some reason …
I guess I’m going to have to guess what that ‘where’ is and file a claim even if I get them both tomorrow.

Only thing I can suggest is google the nearest UPS delivery point to your postcode.

    Bloody heck!
Good news : I gotz my Mantic Order.
Bad news: it was one heck of hassle to speak to human support staff. One automated menu after another.
You really need the patience of a saint to get any kind of support from UPS.

From what they managed to find out is that somehow a second label got scanned and entered into the system, which turned one delivery into two. I can’t fault them for having to work with software that just doesn’t want to do what they need it to do.

Given that Kickstarter pledges often come with no real source address and some no-name logistics company I was afraid I missed something.

Anyways…. me not happy with how UPS handled all of this.

On a related note I had a delivery by DPD today. They didn’t even bother with a physical note, so all I had was the digital notification that a package had been left with a neighbour. (at least they did record the address … )

[insert loads of cursing and bad words]

Did I mention I got the new KoW 4th edition starter + rules + the two expansion books ?
Need time to relax to unpack that 🙂

The K’47 rules and expansion that I got earlier this week were bigger than I had expected them to be. Not tiny A5 booklets, but proper big A4 sized books.
I really appreciate the big format. Not sure if I need that second expansion too, but I might just get it anyway.

Exciting!  Let us know what you think when you have had some time to look through it.  I’ve been very impressed with the 4th Edition rulebook.  Quality product.

In the last video I promised some pictures of the Orc promo from ‪Spellcrows Argatoria I got with their pack of magnets. Here are the pictures! Do you see how tiny that is? And the details! How could one not want to have an army of those?

    @zoidpinhead
I think it’s mostly about how Mantic (and Warlord) approach new version releases.
It’s always something that has serious thought and appreciation for community written all over it.

The expansion books feel like an evolution of the ‘clash of kings’ books they had in 3rd edition where you’d get a few new rules and refreshes to bring everything up-t0-date.
And now we get lore refreshes and updates too …

Of course Mantic have the advantage that they aren’t held back by decades lore that was an ever evolving mess of hot garbage.
Timeline moves forward in tiny steps. Which has the advantage of the universe not being forever stuck in the same order until some really stupendous big things happen that end up changing nothing like you-know-who.

For me it was the Ogres in 3rd that dragged me in (ok … still have to build them 😀 … but that’s just me).
And the new dog-men simply look fantastic. So tempted to shout ‘good boy’ 😉

Heck … Konflikt ’47 feels like it takes the same approach of a timeline that moves forward so things can actually happen ‘in real time’. I’m not sure if they’re going to rename the game to K’57 if that timeline keeps moving forward 😉
They definitely have to worry about it being ‘the end’ sometime as you can’t keep pushing Armageddon forward  …

@limburger You are absolutely right.  As I said in the article I’ve not really paid any attention until recently but what a great product Kings of War is.  The miniatures are fantastic and the way they have decided to work on the lore and rules with the expansion books is really clever.
