Slow Progress...

It has been almost impossible to find time to hobby lately, but we have made some slow progress. Even though the work has been glacial, we did buy yet more Moonstone to add to the project during a recent trip to Harrisburg. Can’t pass up the chance to pick up minis when the only store near you that sells them is 3 hours from home! Let take a look at what we got done.

Starting with the Goblin Airship, it is almost done. The airship itself is finished and I fininshed the base. I still need to join the two, but am waiting for the texture paste to dry so I can clear coat the base. I plan of using Matt spray, and don’t want to get overspray on the frog’s eyes gloss coat. I really enjoyed this mini, which is why  I took my time on it.

For the base, I used some slate that I collected from the bike trail and a variety of fall flock and leaves. I baked the slate at 212 degrees for an hour to make sure any passengers were taken care of  and seti it onto the base using Monument Hobbies texture paste. We also picked up a container of turquoise mother of pearl stone to use as moonstones on the base. This should be a massive upgrade from the painted cork stones that we previously used. I set a large one of these onto the center of the base and built up a rockface around it. I filled it up with an assortment of resin printed bits and basing materials.

While I was working on the airship, Mrs. PIGM00 was priming and basecoating her half of the collection and starting a dozen minis at a time. I also assembled the new figures and build their bases up using bricks, cardboard cobbles, and AK slate chunks.

Hopefully, we can find more time to work on this during the Sring Clean Challenge! Once I get the frog mated to his base I can finally start the mini that made me want to start painting Moonstone, Greymare!
